You need to purchase a new video card that is supported by your system. This is a hardware item that must be installed.

SOURCE: video graphics card

being a PCI card, not a AGP or PCI-E the system may not simply switch to that one a primary display adapter when you install it, in the bios under advanced system settings or intergrated periferals, you should have an option to change the primary display adapter, make sure a PCI adapter is included.. if it isnt, chage it to recognise a PCI card as a primary adapter, turn the system off, and install your card then, depending on the bios/model of the mainboard on some of those dells, it may be a little hard to find, ive had to play with a few of them

SOURCE: upgrading graphics card

Connect the monitor to the onboard video connector first. then
you need to disable the on-board graphics in the BIOS save the setting and shutdown. Then connect the monitor to the GeForce video connector and boot up then you will get a video signal on the GeForce video card.

SOURCE: Upgrading my Acer Aspire M1641 Desktop graphics card

The motherboard will support any PCI Express x16 or PCI Express 2.0 x16 video cards. Your main concern should be with the power supply since it is either a 300w or 250w.

Here is a pretty good choice for your price range:
http://usa.asus.com/products.aspx?l1=2&l2=8&l3=725&l4=0&model=2328&modelmenu=1

Input your info here to see if you need a power supply upgrade.
http://support.asus.com/PowerSupplyCalculator/PSCalculator.aspx?SLanguage=en-us

A little money for system memory would be good if you have less than 1 Gig.
You can test it here:
http://www.crucial.com/systemscanner/index.aspx

If you are saving money by not buying a motherboard and want to spend it (which is what I would do), I would put the money into a the video card and power supply.
Like this:
http://usa.asus.com/products.aspx?l1=2&l2=8&l3=726&l4=0&model=2705&modelmenu=1

And this:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Netzteil-Corsair-620W-ATX-2-2/dp/B000KJNK8U/ref=sr_1_10?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1248740669&sr=1-10

I do not know the dimensions of the Aspire Case, so one thing to keep in mind is the dimensions of the card and the power supply. Make sure they will fit before buying.

If you start replacing motherboards and such, you might as well just go with a whole new system. A new motherboard, new CPU, new memory, new graphics, new power supply, fast hard drives, new case.

SOURCE: what is directX9 capable graphics card

Microsoft DirectX is a collection of application programming interfaces (APIs) for handling tasks related to multimedia, especially game programming and video, on Microsoft platforms. Originally, the names of these APIs all began with Direct, such as Direct3D, DirectDraw, DirectMusic, DirectPlay, DirectSound, and so forth. The name DirectX was coined as shorthand term for all of these APIs (the X standing in for the particular API names) and soon became the name of the collection. Direct3D (the 3D graphics API within DirectX) is widely used in the development of video games for Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Xbox, and Microsoft Xbox 360. Direct3D is also used by other software applications for visualization and graphics tasks such as CAD/CAM engineering. As Direct3D is the most widely publicized component of DirectX, it is common to see the names "DirectX" and "Direct3D" used interchangeably.
The DirectX software development kit (SDK) consists of runtime libraries in redistributable binary form, along with accompanying documentation and headers for use in coding.
The latest versions of Direct3D, namely, Direct3D 10 and Direct3D 9Ex, are only officially available for Windows Vista and Windows 7, because each of these new versions was built to depend upon the new Windows Display Driver Model that was introduced for Windows Vista. The new Vista/WDDM graphics architecture includes a new video memory manager that supports virtualizing graphics hardware to multiple applications and services such as the Desktop Window Manager...............sodeep

Hi i need to upgrade my old pc . i whant to buy a graphic card to play all the new games 2011 but i dont know what g card to buy. my motherboard it is :Mainboard >>> > Manufacturer :...

if you have a old PC then upgrading the graphics card alone will not get your computer up to date to play 2011 games, you might need to buy a whole new 2011 computer. Go online and do a system requirement test of the game you are willing to download or buy and play.

I am trying to play a pc game but it keeps saying my graphics card does not meet the minimum spefications how do i upgrade it?

graphic cards usually are made to a DirectX level the most up to date cards are at DirectX 11
check your game and see what direct X level it requires. it may well be that you can download and install direct x to the level of the game, if the graphic card you have will accept it.

if not the next steps could be expensive, if you are looking to buy an new pc soon anyway then i would not bother to buy a new graphic card, then better a new pc with a decent graphic card installed. if not you have to be aware of the upgrade.

firstly you have to have a power supply that can give power to the new graphics card, if you opt for PCI express these usually have a secondar power connector and your power supply will need to have the connector for this.

also *********** board will have to have a slot that accepts your new graphics card.

check with your computer store to ensure you get the right one. and that your pc will work with it ok.

I hope this was helpful.

Just bought call of duty 4, installed it, when i try to play it says my video card does not support. can you help me? can i download the video card i need to play?

It only works on mid range graphics cards (the hardware iside your PC) so unless you have a supported card then it won't play, and you'll need to upgrade.
What graphics card have you got? right click my computer- click properties then go to device manager and it will tell you under video adapters.

Can't play games on intel

If you have a laptop, sadly this cannot be helped. You simply have a discreet graphics card that is not meant for gaming.

If you have a desktop PC, then you can upgrade the graphics. Look at which slot you have (AGP, PCI, or PCI-E) and choose a graphic card accordingly. If it's nVidia, take a card with a number above 8000. If it's Ati, a number above 2000.

Graphics problem while trying to play games

You may not have sufficient video RAM.
You may be able to increase the size of the video RAM from the BIOS setting.
If this doesn't work then the video card cannot handle the games graphics and there is no way you can upgrade/change the graphics card as it is part of the motherboard.
If you want to play realistic graphics/high resolution games, then get a desktop computer, you can configure/setup these computers with greater computer power, memory and high performance graphics cards.
