Kenwood KDC-BT765HD - reset unit cd ?

The arrow followed by the 3 indicates see page 3 of the manual. You want the section on the Faceplate in the Basics portion of the manual. To reset the KDC-BT765HD, remove the faceplate. Press the Detach button at the bottom left of the faceplate. It's below the button with the magnifying glass/back symbols. Then pull the faceplate towards you. Next press the reset switch twice within 5 seconds. The reset switch is recessed; you'll need the point of a pen or an unfolded paper clip to press it. The switch is near the bottom of the unit somewhat to the left of the center. The manual is available from Kenwood on the product support page: http://www.kenwood.com/usa/car/receiver/kdc-bt765hd/support.html?model=KDC-BT765HD . The current link to the manual is http://manual.kenwood.com/files/B5A-0889-00.pdf .

I hope this helps.

Hello i recently had to disconnect my sony MEX-5DI stero and now it wants a security code which i dont have, i have no manual either. is there anyway i can find out the code?thanks

Hope this helps, if so please feel free to rate? (I have added a link for your manual also)?
Before operating the unit for the first time, or after replacing the car battery or changing the connections, you must reset the unit. Press the reset button with a pointed object, such as a ball-point pen. After the reset is complete, the pre-stored images are displayed. Press (image) on the card remote commander to show the clock display and set the clock and calendar. * Pressing the reset button will erase the clock calendar setting and some stored contents. * The unit starts to perform initial setling for IO seconds after you press the reset buttof). During this, do not insert a disc or "Memory Stick," othetwise the unit may not be reset. Should this occur, press the reset button again. * The unit makes some noise during the initial settings, this is not a malfunction.

Air conitioner started to automatically climb in temperature, we shut the unit off, put new batteries in the remote. the uit will not turn on at all. Prior to this the unit worked perfectly. Can you...

Since it was running (although not cooling) when you turned it off (and put batteries in the remote) it would be strange to have no power at the outlet - but I would check and make sure.

The easy way to check your outlet is - toplug something else in there - like a hair dryer or a lamp - 'assuming' your unit plugs into a regular household outlet, and is indeed a 110 volt appliance.

Step 1 - plug another appliance (hair dryer or lamp) into the outlet

If - after plugging something else into the outlet, i.e. a hairdryer and it works ok - you will - then know that there is nothing wrong with your power supply (110volt outlet). So you can move on to Step 2

Note: if the other appliance does not work - then you need to check the Circuit Breaker to see if it's tripped off. Many times circuit breakers will trip for no particular reason and just needs to be reset (turning breaker off and back on). If you find the breaker is tripped - and you reset it - and the unit - runs and cools ok - I would just keep an eye on it for a few days - watching to see if it does again. A breaker that "keeps" tripping for no apparant reason is an indicator of something electrically wrong within the unit and probably needs a Service Tech to troubleshoot it.

Step 2 - Since the power supply is ok - see if you can start the AC manually - without using the remote. If the unit will not start "manually" - I would look for a "reset button/switch" (*not all units have one) and reset it. Note: if after resetting the unit - it still does not run then proceed to next step (step 3). Or if you can't find a reset button I would look in my manual and see if it can help you find it - if, however you do not have a 'reset button/or can't locate one' then go to next step (step 3).

If - however, after resetting - "the unit comes on and -runs and cools- ok" - I would then 'turn it off,' and let it set for 5 minutes and then try operating it with the remote. If it works with the remote I would then assume you just had an 'electrical glitch' and everything should be ok. If it "doesn't work" with remote I would suspect a defective remote and replace it.

Step 3 - since you have power (at the outlet) and either have 'reset' the unit or can't locate a reset button, or there is no reset on the unit - you are now in need of a Service Tech to electrically trouble-shoot the unit to find the problem. Note: I'm assuming at this point 'Nothing' is running, - not the fan motor - or the compressor, in which case you might look for a "fuse" in the unit - again not all units have one, indeed most do not, but it's something you could check, and easily replace if it's bad.

If, after completing all the checks above and the unit still fails to come on (either manually or with remote) - then you are, as I said above, in need of a Service Tech.

hope this has helped

Reset option

Hello Rohan75,

I am not aware of any reset procedure for the Motorola T5500. The manual does not list any reset function. (Manual available via Motorola's website here: http://www.motorola.com/mdirect/manuals/T50-T55_UserGuide.pdf)

From what you describe, it sounds like one of the units has some sort of hardware fault. It is possible that a simple reset (if there is one) may not fix this issue and the unit may need to be repaired or replaced.

Best Regards,
Ken

Bulb Reset issue

I had the same problem and called Sony, they just said to keep trying what the manual says to do, but make sure the unit is in standby mode. I tried in powered mode and in standby mode many times and it did not work. Then I tried again the next day when the unit had been in standby mode for an extended time period. I hit the four buttons like the manual said, all four in quick succession. I also tried the four buttons in many different sequences from what the manual said. When I powered back up the lamp timer was set to zero, finally! I think having the unit in standby for an extended time was the key. The Sony rep really emphasized the need for the unit to be in standby.
