it is a physical broken piece that supports scanner mechanism. from what i can find. dont no if this has helped.

Perform a power reset.
Press the Power button to turn on the printer.
With the printer turned on , disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
Wait at least 30 seconds. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
Press the Power button to turn on the printer.

make sure you have removed an orange small plastic piece if u don't remove printer will detect it as a Supply memory error

How to fix scanner error 22 with laserjet m1213nf mfp

Press setup, select reports, press ok, select config report, press okay. A report will print out. This should have the page count on it. If not ,try "usage page" which may be listed under "reports". Good luck.
