When you make a dvd you must "finalize" the dvd so it can be read in all players.

Getting a C 13 70 disc is dirty message only for DVDs that I'e burned recently. I bought a new pack of blank DVDs, the same kind I've always used, but every movie I burn on these new ones, they...

Hello, welcome to Fixya!

Was this player playing previously? And how long have you been using this player? I suspect the lens of the player. Once the lens of the player becomes weak, it won't play discs any longer.

The first thing my mind goes to, is the lens. The lens id responsible for reading/loading data on discs. So if the lens is unable to read the disc, there is no way the player is going to play the disc.

To confirm if actually its a laser problem, insert an Audio CD into the player and see if will play. If it plays, then obviously, your laser (lens) is weak. But if it doesn't play Audio CD, then it might still be the laser (lens) or probably, a mechanism problem.

Get a lens cleaner, use it to clean the lens. If that doesn't solve the problem, get a screw driver, open the player's cover so that you can gain access to the lens, use a cotton board to clean the surface of the lens. This should clean dust or dirt that might be on the lens.

If non of the above solves the problem, then know that you need to replace the laser to a brand new one.

To replace the lens, remove the bad laser, use it as a sample to get exactly the same type and do the replacement. Note that replacing a laser (lens) needs a professional touch, so if you cannot replace the laser, get it to a repairman to fix it for you.

Once this us done, your player will play all DVD discs again.

Good luck.

I put pictures on dvd-r disc but they won't play on my dvd player. it does play on my computer.

Just copying the pictures onto a blank DVD won't work if you're trying to make a disc that will play in your DVD player. It's not formatted correctly for the DVD player to recognize it and play it back. All you've done is create a data disc, which works with the computer only.

To make a DVD that will act like a "normal" disc you will need "authoring software". A good free DVD authoring program is DVDStyler. Among other things, it lets you make slideshow DVDs, which is what I gather you're after.

DVD authoring can be time-consuming and somewhat confusing, but you only need to it once for the disc. This page has information about the authoring process, different authoring applications, types of DVDs and more. There are many other sites and videos as well.

Good luck with your project, and thanks for using Fixya!

Samsung dvd player does not read dvd disc.it reads "no disc".

I also have a Samsung Dvd player. If it is a dvd you burned yourself it may not recognize the disc. If you have loaded a purchased or rented disc and it still won't load, I would say the head is dirty or the unit is defective. I would try a head cleaner first.available at most electronics stores If that doesn't work you probably will need to send it in for repair.

I downloaded a movie on my computer. I burnt the disc and when I put it in the dvd player it says cannot play disc. I have a sony DVD Player. Any thoughts?

The exact model of DVD player matters. Not all models can play a Computer burned disc.
There are several types of DVD
A factory type DVD in DVD format
A burned movie in MPEG format
a burned disc in DivX format.
Etc.
Try burning the disc with a DVD Creator program, not just 'Burn to DVD'. It's not the same thing.

When I record to dvd I can't plan on any other DVD player - can play on the toshiba dvr but nothing else?

Have you closed the recording? If the recording is not closed out, you will have trouble playing the DVD in other players.

It could also be that your DVD player you are trying to play on is too old or not designed to use burned DVDs. I also have trouble playing some burned DVD's in older DVD players, it has to do with how the recording is done, and there is nothing you can do about it. For example, I have a Sony 5 disc changer that came with a surround sound set up... nice DVD player, but will NOT handle DVDs burned on stand alone DVD burners or burned from a PC. It reads the DVD, and displays on the front of the player that it is not a DVD, and shows nothing on the TV.

IView 6000kr DVD Player can't play RMVB file from DVD disc

The problem may be that you used a data disc mode. That leads to discs that can be read by other computers not by most DVD players. Did you finalize the disc before removing it from the computer? Try finalizing the disc. From Windows File Explorer, select the DVD drive and choose the Manage tab. Then see if Finish Burning is available.

In the future, make sure that you choose the With a CD/DVD Player option instead of the Like a USB drive. Then finalize the disc before ejecting it. See http://www.online-tech-tips.com/computer-tips/how-to-burn-cds-dvds-blu-ray-discs-windows/ for some tips.

I hope this helps.
