    USING A TIME WARNER CABLE BOX & REMOTE. BRING UP MENUE WITH REMOTE AND TOGGLE TO AUDIO AND PRESS OK. NOTHING HAPPENS. WHERE DO I GO FROM HERE?

  • jim9lily Jun 28, 2009

    WHEN THE TV IS PLAYED THRU THE DVD, THE VOLUME IS QUITE LOW AT 100%. SAME HAPPENS ON RECORDING. I'M TESTING THE SOUND THRU THE DVD AND CAN'T SEEM TO USE THE MENUES FOR AUDIO ADJUSTMENTS EXCEPT BASS, TREBLE, SURROUND,ETC. THE TV SOUND IS FINE AND ALSO MOVIES AND DISKS THAT WERE MADE SOMEWHERE ELSE BUT NOT DISKS RECORDED ON THIS PLAYER. I HAVE CHANGED THE COAXIAL CABLE THAT CONNECTS THECABLE BOX AND THE DVD WITH NO POSITIVE RESULTS.

Hi,
I can see an option in here to increase volume bar in Motorola cable Box menu, if that is an option available there or check DMR-ES30V Menu settings for input volume level control.
Thanks.

    It was requested to increase audio out level in cable box, do you see that option in Menu?

  • Anonymous Jun 28, 2009

    In DMR-ES30V if audio level is low, please check your audio source and increase audio level from that source so to DMR-ES30V will record it.
    And if audio source (cable box) has no option to increase audio output level, please check connecting cables, make sure to connect audio digital cable between units to avoid unnecessary loss of audio level.
    Thanks.

    OK, that means cable box is sending enough audio level to dvd recorder and dvd recorder playback is also fine and its just its audio recording that is low when its being playback.
    DVD recorder has fixed audio input level and there is no control available to change. Seems dvd recorder has problem with its audio circuit. If DMR-ES30V is under warranty, then send it to service center for fix.
    and if its out of warranty, please check with local TV repair shop to see any cold solder joints or broken chip resistor in audio circuit of dvd recorder that causing low level in recording.
    Thanks

Dmr-ES30V Dvd plays pre record movies fine but I

Try a different brand of blank dvd+r or -r. you will find that your dvd machine is fussy on what discs it plays. More exspensive dvd players are fussy with what dvd discs you put in, as cheaper dvd players would virtualy play most types of dvds.

My Dad recorded all his VHS tapes and made DVD's on the Panasonic DVD Recorder DMR-ES30V and now they wont play on any DVD player except for the DMR-ES30V. I believe he recoreded them with a lock so they...

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

My compliments to the foresight of your father. Your described concern is not caused by a "lock". It is indicative that the recording session was not 100% completed. Rather than 'crack', what is required is the final step in the recording. All the DVDs must be "finalized" in the same machine that recorded the movies, the Panasonic DVD Recorder DMR-ES30V. The finalize option would be in the MENU/Settings and must be enabled. Finalization per disc would take some time.

Good luck and thank you for using FixYa.

How do I find an owners manual for my Panasonic DMR-ES30VS?

Unless the "S" is for Spanish (also available on Panasonic's website), the link to the manual is here:

Record a digital channel while watching and analog channel

Take a red, white, and yellow AV cable and plug it from the AV out of the cable box to the red, white, and yellow In of the dvd recorder (change cable box to the channel you want to record). Then change your TV to the channel you want to view.

Have fun!

PANASONIC DVD RECORDER

Appreciate the direct "Ask Me".

Since both are record capable:
  • hook the Video and Left/Right Audio OUT of the DMR-ES30V to one of the composite/matching INPUT of the DMR-EX88;
  • use the DMR-ES30V as a player and the DMR-EX88;
  • to be able to watch and monitor the output, temporarily hook up the OUTPUT of the DMR-EX88 to the INPUT of the TV.

Digital in 2009

no your system is NTSC only. if you are recording from an aeral antenna you will need a set top box. if you are recording from cable, the cable company will provide a digital box, or you may already have one therefore you are recording digitaly. if on satelite that too is already digital. this DVD recorder will not record however HD, this is a standard formate only.
