Hello, my ez-label printer will not print...it makes a noise as if it is printing but the tape does not move.

Take out the tape and spin the drive for the tape. Put it back together and it should work. I hope this provides some assistance to you.

Your cassette tape has probably become unthread. Take the cassette out of your handheld printer. Make sure that the tape is fed under both claws on each side of the tape. If the tape is only under one claw, your label will not be flat and will only print the bottom half of the letter on your label.

This depends on the TAPE CARTRIDGE you have in your label printer. Apparenlty, you have a TRANSPARENT TAPE on it, and the printer prints in BLACK only.

Just replace the tape cartridge

Maybe go to a local store and try a display model of the same printer and see if it makes identical sound. If it doesn't make the same, contact whoever you bought from to see about warranty or refund. Can also contact HP customer service for advice.

The print head needs cleaning. Use a swab and alcohol to clean it. If that doesn't solve the problem, then the heater in the print head needs replacing.

I'm on my second machine since December. Neither P-Touch would feed the white tape, the other layers bunch up inside the machine. Called Brother, and they were no help (indeed not much interested in my problem), except to suggest I clean the rollers with alcohol/q-tip. This action did result in the tape feeding, but not properly as I now get an unusable label strip with all three layers, and printing on the clear layer backed by black layer. POS if you ask me; it is going back to the store.

to reset memory
1. Make sure that label printer is off
2. While holding down the PRINT and ESC keys, press ON?OFF to power on.
3. KEEPING PRINT and ESC held down, release the ON?OFF key only.
4. Release PRINT and ESC keys.
5. Press SET to initialize the Label Printer or ESC to Abort

There are two small "hooks" that feed the tape through on the tape cartridge. Make sure the tape is fed through both hooks.
