You hook them up in series. The plus from one battery goes to the minus of the other battery. This will produce 24 volts.

With the vector 2000 watt converter do you need to run 2 batterys.

well unless you bought the 24 volt unit no one battery will run the unit, according to black and decker this unit is not being made, did you buy it new or at a yard sale?
one way to tell is look on bottom of unit, it will tell you if it is 24 or 12 volt model.

My charger is not putting out dc voltage, but is putting out ac voltage. for example, if i select 24 volts it will put out 24 volts ac, not dc. what failed to cause this problem? I am getting no amps on...

Hi, you're Rectofier has failed if you have A/C voltage and no D/C voltage. This is what converts A/C volts to D/C volts. If you have a diagram or any parts manual, you can locate this part and replace it. You will need to go to a place that repairs these chargers, or where you bought it to order or but a new one.

Can i convert a 12v cordless black and decker mower to electric

I assume you mean convert it to corded, connected to the mains; cordless is electric as well.
It is possible but there are conversion losses as compared to using a 'native' AC corded mower motor.
It also depends on why you want to convert it. If you find the battery unit underpowered, adding a 12v power supply and cord will not solve that, it will just extend the run-time to continuous, assuming the motor does not overheat, as it is probably designed to match the battery run length for on/off cycle times.
You could consider trading, or selling yours and buying a corded mower.

Two car batteries @ 24-volt, would like to go to 15-volts

Hello j37p,

You will need a thing called a "DC to DC Converter". Here's a link to one place that makes them: http://www.powerstream.com/
One model they have is the PST-D24/12-800. It will accept 20-28V input and has an adjustable output from 12.5-15.5V.

I'm hoping that you are not planning on trying to charge 3 batteries with your vehicle alternator. You would not want 2 12V batteries in series anywhere near the vehicle electrical system. They would definitely burn stuff up. You'll also want to be thinking about how to keep the dc converter and your amp(s) cool. Believe me, they will be getting hot and require some serious airflow.

Hope this helps.

Converting From 12/24 to Starght 24 Volt

if it is 24v. then you need to connect 2 battery in parallel. since the battery is only 12v.
if one battery is shoing red and the other is sohwing green, that means you are using 12v only, not the 24v.
connetion as follow:
positve of battery 1 to the motor, the negative of battery 1 to postive of battery 2. the negative of battery 2 to the motor.
