I have the same problem and what it is the impact will wear down meaning the motor. I have four Dewalt 18v six tool kits and one impact is dieing has not even close to the power my newest one does. My oldest impact is three years old and used every day. If you search online I found diagrams and replacement parts at ToolPartsDirect.com, and eReplacementParts.com you can replace the motor first. Hope I helped.

If you use it every day, it would be normal for the battery to be at the end of its life. ni cads are usually good for 300 charges/discharges

How long to recharge a 18v dewalt drill battery

A fully working 18v Dewalt Battery will only take 90 minutes to just over an hour to fully charge from going flat. This fully charged battery should last about 4 hours of use (depending on the load). So the answer is 1 hour.

My dewalt 18v xrp battery wont take a charge

Depending on how old or more to the point how many times you have already charged the battery, it may be worn out. All rechargeable batteries do reach a point where they won't charge up anymore. If you have fully discharged the battery and tried to fully charge it up again and it won't take a charge or only lasts a few minutes on a charge it may be time to recycle it and buy a new one.
