It depends on what you want to change about your audio setting. My cable box remote has two audio settings: one for changing the SAP language sound from English, to Spanish or French; and a setting that changes two separate audio functions: one changes the broadcast sound from Dolby Digital (TM) sound to regular stereo sound, and the other will allow using either a fixed setting (cable box sound level is at a fixed level allowing one to use the sound control on the TV, or other audio receiver), or a variable setting (allowing the use of the cable box to adjust the audio level).

My Sony TV control also allows me to adjust the tv's audio treble, bass, balance, and special effect sounds, and if needed, to turn the tv speakers off. Hope this is helpful..................Gary

How to change audio on the movies on tv to English

The steps to change the audio language on a movie on your TV can vary depending on the TV and streaming service or media player you are using. Here are some general steps you can follow:
  1. Navigate to the movie you want to watch and start playing it.
  2. Look for the "Audio" or "Language" options on the playback screen or in the settings menu of your TV or media player.
  3. Select the desired audio language (in this case, English) from the available options. Some streaming services may have a separate audio track labeled "English" or "Original Audio," while others may have language options in the settings menu.
  4. If you do not see an option to change the audio language, try accessing the settings menu of your TV or media player and look for language settings. You may be able to change the default language of the device, which should also change the audio language of the movie.
  5. If you are still having trouble changing the audio language, consult the user manual or help documentation for your TV or media player, or contact the manufacturer's customer support for assistance.

Tv does not receive sound from new digital cable box through hdmi cable.

It's probably a settings issue on your t.v., you can change where you get sound from (audio source), and it might be set to something like an analog audio source. Just change the audio to come from your HDMI. Not sure what model your t.v. is, but try going to settings, sound, and find something that looks similar to audio source, and change your settings from there.

Ok here's the fix, you're only recieivng audio on HD channels because you've got your audio set on automatic or dolby ac-3.

Click menu on your remote, go to a/v settings, then audio and change it to MPEG-1.

Should sort you out.

Ps3

you might want to try changing the settings settings just go to sound settings>audio output settings and choose the type of cable you're using sfter that select automatic and press X. if that doesnt solve the problem may be you accidentally chage the BD/DVD audio output format. is locate in BD/DVD Settings change both BD/DVD audio output format (HDMI) and BD Audio Output Format (optical Digital) to linear PCM or viseversa try both to see wich one works.
p.s. it can also be a problem with your sound/ hometheater system.
