If this is a stand alone icemaker. Is the unit running? If not check the icemaker ejector blades to make sure that its pointing at 12 oclock. If not then you need to take the cover off the icemaker and turn the smaller gear counter clockwise.(remove cover by gently prying on the inside corners and pull at the same time) Turning it counter clockwise will turn the ejector blade. Once you get it to 12 the plug the unit in and turn on. Compressor and fan should come on. If the unit is running then make sure the fan is operating. Yes then is the compressor on? Yes > then you have a sealed system problem. Let me know if you need further assistance.

The ice maker on my Kitchenaid KBF320EVMS4 french door refrigerator stopped working. The drinking water works fine and I can hear the noise when the ice maker fills with water but no water comes in.

you can pop the cover off of the ice maker,on the module you'll see some letters,if you get a jumper wire and stick it into the T and H the ice maker should start to spin,if it doesn't the ice maker is bad, then remove the wire and stick it into the V and L,water should start to fill the ice maker,if it doesn't most likely you have a bad water valve, just get a piece of wire, strip off both ends to make a jumper wire.one more thing, check the fill cup and the fill line to see if there's any ice in there,if the water valve is bad water can drip through and freeze in the cup or fill line stopping the water from entering the ice maker,if there is melt it out with a hair dryer, also if you have to get in there with a hair dryer be careful with the heat on any plastic parts, you can damage it and don't heat the fuse on the ice maker wires,it's a black fuse built into the harness you can damage it if it gets to hot.you can go here to see your parts

Refrigerator and freezer not getting cold enough

Yes the defrost timer should come on by itself and if it does not just turn the timer again clockwise and replace timer because this will cause the refrigerator to not defrost. I don't have the amount of time off for yours but some timers are off for up to 30 minutes three times a day. When looking at the rear wall of freezer do you see frost build up? The ice maker will stop making ice most times above 5 degrees inside freezer. Let me know Thanks Sea Breeze
The defrost timer for your model is=> 68233-3 Defrost Timer

I have a 1990 Carver Santego boat and it has it's original u-line ice maker on board. This year I noticed that the ice maker was still staying very cold but stopped making ice. My husband checked to make...

as the fridge gets older the gas gets less efficient so regasing the unit may work, but, due to its age, you may find replacement more cost effective...and more efficient.

No longer making ice. no sound coming from the motor if it is trying to make ice.

Hi lots of things to check.

1) are you getting water at door ? - if so water is on and filter is not blocked or installed backwards.
2) this does nor rule out the solinoid because it has two sides one for water and one for ice. ( we will come back to solinoid)
3) Is the ice maker swich turned on ? located inside freezer door to the right of the icemaker looks a bit like a wire coat hanger grab it and push it up for off or down for on ( you should hear a click)
4) Is you fill tube blocked with frozen ice ? located inside freezer door at back of ice maker, looks like a plastic hose going through the back wall at an up hill angle. if so heat it up with a hair drier to melt ice. or pull part out from back of fridge and soak in hot water.
4) Check control board. (This was my problem)Turn off power, open freezer locate a white plastic square cover with sides about 6 inches long, located at front of icemaker prise out the plastic button located on the right side with a flat screwdriver pull white cover off, ( check power is off) look at wheel behind cover if you see any melted parts then this is your problem. remove three screws and pull wheel and front panel towards you it will come away. dont turn wheel by hand - if you need to line up spline turn part in ice maker instead, also note on - off switch ( wire coathanger thing attaches to this ) Top right. sounds harder than it is. sniff part, can you smell a burnt out smell if so order a new part on line. ( this part controls all the action. turns water solinoid on to fill tray, tips tray etc,
5) water solinoid has had it, located at back of fridge behind cardboard, water line from wall attaches to this as does water line to cold water and water line to ice maker, this is a double solinoid so it is posable for ice to work and not cold water or vice versa, turn off water and power remove part and take to your electrical part supplier for testing and or replacment.

Ice maker icing up

Sounds like you may have a couple of problems here. The frost build up could be from a bad door seal. Moist air can be drawn in and collect on the inside. As for the water temp, it sounds like the water line connected to the refrigerator could be tapped off a hot water line. It needs to be connected to a potible cold water line.

Kenmore elite - top freezer

if there is ice build up at the back wall of the freezer section, then you have a problem with your defrost cycle. the freezer would not be very cold for the ice maker to work.

it's either your timer, defrost heater or your bi-metal.
