The outside air temperature indicator's displayed temperature can be recalibrated. Press and hold the reset select button for 10 seconds . While you continue to hold the button, the display will scroll through temperature settings from +3 to -3. When the desired correction value appears on the display, release the button, and the recalibrated outside air temperature will be displayed. Each time a desired correction value is entered, it replaces the previous value. Give that a try mmkayyy:)
have you had any speakers or bass boosters installed in your car that werent in the vehicle before you purchased. Watch for wiring issues or possibly even battery voltage issues.
as far as i know-no bulb for digital readout on that one. sounds like control head is bad... check fuses etc. also looking at a diagram loooks like display power runs through the headlight switch? seems odd but a place to look. most likely head though try used or in dewitt ny there is a place called united radio that fixes-rebuilds these look em up i use them from time to time
inside the radio is a miniature bulb that back-lights the display, this is true of all radio's, in fact they all use the same tiny bulb, these do burn out from time to time, u will need to remove the radio/CD unit and then pull the top cover off, inside just behind the display u will find a small twist in socket that contains the bulb, u can buy this bulb at any full service auto part's store for about $2
The instruments you talk of don't have a memory that retains info if the battery power is lost, the technician has a little back up power supply that goes in the cigar lighter to avoid this loss of memory.
