You should be able to use any replacement by Nutone. The kit should have finishing rings to install and cover anything from the old one.

SOURCE: Broken ceiling fan switch

NOT ALL SWITCHES ARE THE SAME!!!! Some are single layer and some are not!!. I think you can tell by the body color of the switch. Red and Black, Grey and Black, ETC. I figured this out after buying 3 of the wrong switches. Each one hooks up a little different. If it is an aloha brand fan like sold at WalMart it is a common issue. Just call there 800 number and they will send you a new one. You have to know the exact model number of have the bar code. Usually there is a bar code on top of the motor. Just take it down from the ceiling and look. I called them on Thursday and got a free switch and capacitor on Monday!! My fan is going great again. If you have the old switch check it or just call the fan's customer service!!
Just call 1-800-295-4448. Even the call is free.

SOURCE: Bathroom exhaust fan 16 years old and noisy. How to fix?

One drop of 30 wt oil at each bearing will quiet the thing for a while, but you will eventually want to replace it. Also consider the whole fan is about the same cost as the motor, and easier to find.

SOURCE: I can't find a replacement fan 3 speed switch for

Hi azwaverid!

I just had a similar problem with my ceiling fan, not sure if I have the same model as you (the fan was in the house when I bought it). I do have the exact same pull chain switch (K.T.E 2035080).

I went to a big home improvement store and the salesman gave me some 3-way switch and guaranteed it would work. The switch had only 3 wires, not 4 like the original. Can you guess what happened next? That's right, their part didn't work.

Being an engineer, I could not admit defeat. I consulted with other engineers I work with, and they pointed me to a "mom & pop" electronics store close to my house. I went to Centennial Electronics in Colorado Springs, CO. The sales staff didn't have experience with this problem, but at least helped me and offered suggestions.

I ended up buying a Philmore Pull Chain Switch for $2.51 after tax. This worked perfect! Just be sure to place the wires in the right slots. On my fan, the following positions and wire colors were: L - Orange, 1 - Yellow, 2 - Purple, and 3 - Blue (I just matched them up the same as the K.T.E. switch colors & positions).

Hope this helps!
Bob

P.s. The exact part I used was:
Philmore No. 30-9152 (UPC code: 0 38975 39152 6). The box says (everywhere you see a semi-colon is a line break): Philmore PULL CHAIN SWITCH; L-1-2-3, L-2-3, L-1-3, L-1-2, PUSH-IN TERMINAL; 6A-125V AC, 3A-250V AC; Made in Taiwan No. 30-9152; LKG Industries - Rockford, IL

Our exhaust fan is really noisy. Nutone QT 100N-B model. Where can we purchase a new one?

This model has been discontinued but replacement motor assemblies are available. There is no off the shelf model that will fit in the existing housing. If you do not want to replace the housing then the motor assembly is the way to go.
You ca purchase the replacement from either site below:

I need a replacement motor for a NuTone Model LS-80SE exhaust fan but can't find one.

Home depot usually has a good selection of replacement fans. They usually are a fan on a mounting plate, not just the fan motor itself. Sometimes you have to purchase the entire fan unit just to get the fan motor plate inside for a replacement part.

I have a Nu Tone LS80SE bath fan that died. It is an obsolete fan with no more support. Is there a current fan replacement that doesn't require major modifications to my duct already in place? I just...

I had the LS-80SE and it appears that that model is discontinued, including the replacement motor. I ended up replacing it with the QTN110E, which is a bit bigger. The QTN is designed to mount to a joist on the opposite side of the LS model, I avoided having to do that by just screwing through the metal body into the joist that the LS was mounted to instead of using the mounting holes that are provided on the QTN. You will end up having to remove a small amount of drywall approx 1"x 11.5" to fit the QTN in. Put a backing strip or piece of plywood up and behind the drywall so that you have something to screw the filler piece of drywall in to when you do your repair, mud the cracks, sand, texture if need be... hope that helps

The fan blade can be removed from the shaft. You just need to pop the lock washer off and pry the fan blade. You most likely will not be able to remove the fan blade without damaging the blade. You can buy the replacement fan blades online. The part number is 5901A000. Here is a blog on the entire replacement motor assembly. http://nutoneproducts.typepad.com/nutone-products/2009/08/nutone-0695b000-replacement-bath-fan-motor-for-model-qt80.html
