I don't think it is worth messing around with it anymore..Look for a replacement on ebay..Unless you get another same model and remove the needed bits..

The spacebar on my Sony laptop is not leaving spaces be tween words when e-mailing.Hw can I fix his as i's verynnoying

The space-bar can be lifted off using a small screw driver , this will reveal whats underneath , as it clips onto a wire structure that acts like a spring as well as pushing on the electronic button to send the signal , this can be faulty due to dirt getting lodged under the space-bar or a misalignment problem with the mechanism its self and can usually be fixed once the plastic space-bar is removed , but take note when removing the plastic space-bar key in regards to how it is attached and the position of the wire spring system so that after fixing replacement is easy .

The far right and left ends of the spacebar do not work. In order to use the spacebar function, the direct middle of the button has to be pushed down.

You need to reposition (clip) the torssion bar under the spacebar key (a steel wire formed in a wide U shape), it is unhooked, call for a professionnal if you'r not sure how to do this as you may brake the plastic hinge if you don't know what you'r dooing...

I broke my spacebar off my laptop gateway computer! How do i fix this?

Of all the keys on the keyboard, replacing the SPACEBAR is probably the most difficult. The SPACEBAR is kept even by a metal wire that is inserted into slots on each leg of the plastic bar key. However, you have to get the wire into the slots without depressing the wire. If you push the wire down, you compress the wire and installation becomes impossible. As a general rule, do not remove the SPACEBAR unless absolutely necessary. If you remove the SPACEBAR, remove several surrounding key caps also. This will let you get some tools under the SPACEBAR wire later on. Once the SPACEBAR is reinserted, you can easily replace any of the other key caps.

The sugar goes into the contacts and permanently deamages the keyboard. NOT REPAIRABLE. The laptop keyboards are not very expensive. You will only get that problem solved by replacing the keyboard.

Spacebar on my pc wont snap back on after removal

Looks like something has been spilt down behind the spacebar or much dirt has accumulated in among the keys, or the spring has come unstuck the rebounds the spacebar back to it's original position. You will have to open the back of the notebook and try to assess what's wrong back there. I would asume that your spring has come loose from the spacebar and all that needs to be done is to clip it back into it's position, eithir that or a good clean to get rid of all the sticky matter that is back there.

Keyboard spacebar sticking

Just solved it, after a bit of tinkering...

the prongs of the floating plastic frame need to sit inside the clips of the spacebar key, you can't just clip it back on with the prongs either up or down. It's fiddly, you need a paperclip or thin screwdriver to do it, but it's stopped the sticking problem.

Keyboard space bar

only two possibilities, first is the rocker springs at each end or the bar are causingit to not make contact. or the bubble switches under the keyboard. I had a similar problem on an inspiron 6400 and I had to VERY CAREFULLY remove the keyboard, then the button to reach the bubble switch which had lost the plastic bushing that covered the shorting contact, good luck given the insane price that dell wanted for a new keyboard fixing it myself was the option.
