Most of the time you'll need to change a setting in the BIOS to force the computer to recognize the PCI slot first. Try going through your BIOS settings until you find it. It should be something like "Display First" or Primary, and it should be set to onboard graphics. Try changing that to PCI and see if that fixes your problem.
Although I'm not familiar with that motherboard the usual way to disable the onboard sound is;
Enter the bios by pressing the Delete key or F2 when the machine starts to boot.
Go to the Integrated Peripherals section and find the On-Board line and change it to disable.
You can disable the onboard by visiting your bios.
On boot it will tell you to press del f8 f2 etc to enter the setup from there you can navigate around to disable the onboard and choose the lane your older pci card is in.
Your N9600GT provides two HDMI out puts for dual display.
Even though you are currently only using one HDMI. Switch your monitor cable to the other HDMI out put. See if you now have display.
Also while in the bios allow, Page 2-27 in manual, Allocate IRQ to PCI set to [Yes]. Page 2-24, Internal Graphics Mode Select, [Disable]
This motherboard IS capable of accepting an aftermarket AGP video card if the onboard video fails. You may need to disable the onboard video in the BIOS before it will see the new card. This could also be a heat issue,: check all fans and heat sincs (under the fans) for dirt and wear. over heating is the #1 cause of system shutdowns. Post here again if you need further assistance.

If you plug in a pci video card, sometimes the bios, not Windows disables the card on board. If the onboard video is not being disabled from bios, then you will be able to use either one or the other video cards, no need to disable it manually. If your system takes both cards and you want to disable one, then go to system properies/hardware/device manager and disable the unwanted video card from device list by ticking disable on device profile.
1. open your cabinet. 2. remove the battery form the motherboard. 3. wait 15 seconds and then replace the battery again. 4. connect your screen to the pci ex card.
no you dont need the jumpers or some from there...just before booting your OS,go into the bios field. there you will find the option you must set to disable. the exact point youll find it I cant tell you because bios are different from board to board..depending of the manufacturer..just surf the bios,youll find it and disable it good luck bye
