I could not find any page or article that associated your product with the word wireless or wifi, so I would have to assume that this is not the case (ie your machine cannot communicate wirelessly). Thank you.
You might just need new drivers for the reader/writer. Try the Husqvarna website first, or else do an internet search for "Husqvarna Reader/Writer drivers" or something similar. Is the reader/writer a USB or serial connection? You are going to have problems if it is serial and I am not sure there is a solution, but USB connection should definitely be able to get working.
It sounds like you need to update the device driver for you card reader. You can go to Baby Lock USA web page and do a search for driver updates. Also the USB cord for the reader/writer card is specific for this device so don't throw it away until you try updating the driver for your particular Windows version.
Assume you are loading your designs using Organizer? Yes? I have very limited experience of this, preferring to use Disk Manager (but you need to have this program which I am guessing you don't).
It is my understanding that Organizer will only load one design to an embroidery media, not a whole menu of various designs. However you obviously are not "seeing" even one design. Did a pre-loaded Husqvarna card come with your machine? I think it should have, but if it didn't then that doesn't help you very much either.
I am wondering if the D-card is not "formatted" for embroidery recognition. The Designer machines like to receive their designs in a certain file arrangement but I'm afraid I can't offer you advice on how to format the card - I do my formatting through Disk Manager.
However, while I was writing the above it did occur to me - are you loading designs that are the .shv format? Your machine will not recognize .hus, .vip, .vp3 or any other format. Please write back to this group and let me know if any of the above was useful to you. I belong to a Yahoo group that deals exclusively with Designer machines, so I will ask the group members if they can come up with any helpful advice.
Hi, I have the same problem with mine. Janome have not been very helpful. I didn't know if it was the card or the card reader/writer. I have a Janome CX500. Have you solved any of the problems?
Louise
It's a reader/writer box, however, the boxes (all brands pertaining to embroidery) use specially sized cards specific to embroidery programs. They don't work any differently than any other type of reader/writer or flash card, it's just that the generic brand cards will not fit.
The Box for the Rose (or any other Husqvarna) is hard to find because they don't make them anymore. Also, it requires a serial port instead of the new USB connection. Sometimes you can find them on Ebay. I don't know if anyone makes a serial port device with a USB adapter on the other end, but might be worth looking into.
I would suggest that you purchase one of the newer boxes that will read and convert any designs you may want to download from the net. There are a few . .
The Ultimate Box by Vicant which is also backward compatible to Win 98, which is what your Rose actually reads.
(There is also Magic Box, but I don't know anything about that one.) There's another one, also, but it only comes with a full embroidery program. $$$$
The only drawback is that it will not read any of your Husqvarna embroidery cards because they are code protected.
I have an Ultimate Box Plus with conversion feature and it works fine for me, very easy to use. If you get the box, make sure you get one that comes with the card and that it's an updated version.
Here's a link for information. I actually bought my box somewhere else cheaper, but this site is chocked full of information.
Did you purchase the 4D reader writer kit? If so, once you've loaded the driver for the reader/writer box, you go to the "organizer", select a design and "send" to your box. If you purcased new, the directions are pretty straight forward; otherwise, you may want to contact your locat Viking dealer for assistance.
You might need an update for your reader writer box. The one you have might be old and that is why it does not recognizes it. Just go to the manufacturer's site and download an update for your reader/writer box.
