I am attempting to pair the EM227 with a Samsung Galaxy S4.The device IS IN PAIRING MODE and the phone recognizes it's existence, but it will not pair saying that I have an incorrect pin/password.I've tried 0000, 1111, 1234, 9999, a few of my typical pins in case I set it up, and the last 4 digits of my cell number. Any further suggestions?? Is it just too old to work with my new phone??

SOURCE: My Motorola H700 Will Not Pair
I had the same problem and I keep trying and trying 1234, 0000 and other numbers I can think of. It was frustrating. I was ready to throw my device away and buy a new one. Then I tried something that I have not and it worked. All I needed to do is to press the big button in the center of the H700 until it turns purple steadily. And then I pulled out the microphone of the H700. The button remained purple. Then I typed the password 0000 into my cellphone. The button will flicker indicating it's finally communicating and then it finally did!. Try that. Hopefully it works for you too. It worked with mine.

yeah hedenram is right. my problem was that i was trying to pair something WITHOUT the headset in pairing mode. just switching it on doesnt put the headset in pairing mode and it will reject the 0000 passkey even if this is correct. it is vital when you turn on you hold the power button til it flashes red/green and then it will be in pairing mode and accept the 0000. the only way i found this was in the instruction booklet which i thought i had chucked away

The center button must be depressed with boom "closed" until it turns purple. Once it is purple, let go of the button and extend the boom. It should then remain a constant purple color and then be in "pairing" mode.
