EM227 + Samsung GS4 = Not a Pair?

I am attempting to pair the EM227 with a Samsung Galaxy S4.The device IS IN PAIRING MODE and the phone recognizes it's existence, but it will not pair saying that I have an incorrect pin/password.I've tried 0000, 1111, 1234, 9999, a few of my typical pins in case I set it up, and the last 4 digits of my cell number. Any further suggestions?? Is it just too old to work with my new phone??

SOURCE: My Motorola H700 Will Not Pair

I had the same problem and I keep trying and trying 1234, 0000 and other numbers I can think of. It was frustrating. I was ready to throw my device away and buy a new one. Then I tried something that I have not and it worked. All I needed to do is to press the big button in the center of the H700 until it turns purple steadily. And then I pulled out the microphone of the H700. The button remained purple. Then I typed the password 0000 into my cellphone. The button will flicker indicating it's finally communicating and then it finally did!. Try that. Hopefully it works for you too. It worked with mine.

SOURCE: Pin number for philips SHB6100 aside from 0000.

yeah hedenram is right. my problem was that i was trying to pair something WITHOUT the headset in pairing mode. just switching it on doesnt put the headset in pairing mode and it will reject the 0000 passkey even if this is correct. it is vital when you turn on you hold the power button til it flashes red/green and then it will be in pairing mode and accept the 0000. the only way i found this was in the instruction booklet which i thought i had chucked away

SOURCE: Want to pair existing motorola blue tooth head set

The center button must be depressed with boom "closed" until it turns purple. Once it is purple, let go of the button and extend the boom. It should then remain a constant purple color and then be in "pairing" mode.

Testimonial: "Worked! Thanks!"

Need 4 digit code to pair to my 2004 e class

What ever you are pairing with, the phone should just pair...
However, if it does not ... try "0000".
Otherwise look for documentation on line for the device you are attempting to pair with.

Should not be a problem. If you download the quick start guide from this site and follow the pairing instructions for your Bluetooth phone that should work well.

If you do not have instructions for Samsung Illusion then you can follow page 83 for pairing bluetooth in the manual from this site.

make sure that the code you enter in to the phone as the pairing code is correct. most of them are 0000 or 00000, some of the samsungs are 1234.

this code must be entered in correctly to pair the device. If you are using an iphone, there are some issues with it people report.

EM227 to Iphone

You must put you headset in pairing mode, prior to trying to pair it with your phone. In order to do it, starting with it turned off, press and hold the power button for some 10 seconds, until the indicator light is alternately flashing in red and blue. It is in pairing mode now. Then, bring your phone close to it, and make its bluetooth application search for new devices. After a little while, your headset should appear on-screen. Select it and make it connect. If a pairing code (or passkey, or PIN) is requested, enter '0000' (four zeros). If the pairing process is successful, your headset should enter the stand-by mode (blue light flashing every few seconds).
By the way, If its user guide happens to be missing, or, rather, you need further informations on how to pair it with your phone, feel free to download it from this location.
