Will one of those extra battery packs work to power the kobo? I just bought a 'pocket juice' at walmart to use with my cell phone.
Others are saying it is not worth putting in the real battery.

If the books have been loaded from Kobo, you can go to their site and load them again (for free). If not, you would have to get them again from other sources and may have to pay for them again.

that is the mac address.. remove the period (.) and add colon (:) after every 2 characters

I am assuming that you are trying to download the Kobo Desktop App for Windows. If that is the case, then this link should work OK for you:

Make sure the Kobo is fully charged and switched off. Hold down the 'HOME' key while turning the Kobo on. When you see the power light release the 'HOME' key. The lights will flash. Follow the onscreen prompts.
