Need error code information for 1995 Ford Aerostar minivan
Code #53, #85, and #36. After replacing plugs and wires, the engine is now "chugging". Need to know what the error codes mean so that I can finish fixing it.

The codes should be cleared with a scanner. However, on a 1995 Aerostar, we are talking about an old EEC-IV system. You cannot clear codes on that vehicle with a generic OBD code reader because it is not OBD compatible. You need to get access to a Ford "Star Tester" or an aftermarket scanner that can emulate a star tester.
Codes can also be cleared on that system by disconnecting the negative battery cable, but this is NOT the recommended procedure because disconnecting and reconnecting the battery cable can cause voltage spikes that can damage sensitive computer equipment in your vehicle. If you decide to do it this way, make sure that you leave the battery disconnected for a minimum of 15 minutes before reconnecting the cable.
It can be a bad fuel filter. During cold start ups the dirt and rust on the filter is blocking the fuel flow that's why it misses. But once the dirt and rust is loosen the fuel flow is normalized. As a first course of action, I strongly suggest that you replace the fuel filter.

I am a ford aerostar ownermyself (1995 3.0) i have found that it is easiest way to do it is to go at them from underneath the van the passenger side is easier to do, but the drivers side will take some work to get up there, you can also remove the dogbox and go at it that way to
sounds like plug wires look for arcing between wires or to ground when wet look at night in total darkness. they sell wire drier but that is a temp fix only
