Oil change lamp will come about 3000 miles but the check engine has dto do with the engine sensors and preformance.have the comouter scanned for engine codes.let me know the codes. if you have a auto zone in your area they will scan it for free just write down the numbers.

These types of issues are very hard to diagnose. Your dealer knows best. Hyundai's in general have poor resale value because of these types of problems as do other Korean made cars to include Chevy's made in the former Daiwoo factory. (You should have bought a Toyota.)

have you had oil changed recently? if so look to see if oil pan plug is in tact. if so, check oil on dipstick. the problem is the car has no oil pressure. if the oil level is good the oil pump is bad. good luck!!

Have 2002 sante fe just recently had new transmission installed new battery but today its very cold out car started up ok but noticed for the first 15 minutes my brake light and battery light stayed on...
cold can play hell with electronics. if it happens again (provided the battery is the proper one for that vehicle) hit the accelerator and see if the lights go out. sometimes just a good warm up will rectify the issue. happy holidays
