I have a Sony KV-8AD12 Small TV, need to order the single antenna
I've had this TV for about 9 years. The picture is great, but am just wondering if it's worth searching or paying for the single antenna which has gone missing somewhere, now that the Digital TV Conversion is almost here. Any recommendations on the source of a replacement antenna, and would it work with a converter box for my kitchen counter?
Thanks so much!

I would look for intermitent solder connections on the small horizonal driver transformer as well as other HV Componets.(HV Transformer etc.) Also solder up the Vetical output IC. These have been common causes of failures. I would not use the set until these have been checked and soldered. If you don't, a massive failure of the hoizonal circuit and powersupply will occur.
Hope this helps,

are there screw terminals that it connects too? if not but the wire is exposed like you said splice into it add in one of the transformers that has the rf end on the end of it. i would recomend some strain relief
the problem there is a loose connection on the board, you said that you smacked the right side of the tv and it goes normal.there are parts that should be resolder on the board in order to back into normal operation.
Should be a choice from Auto to on ,then on to off......
Consult owner operator manual or download from sites / search

Don't beat it with a bat LOL, the problem your having is a simple solution, however this would be best left to a qualified tech to do, the Screen Voltage needs to be tweaked up just a tick, I've worked on alot of these sony's and 9 times out of ten thats what it is.
