Compaq Presario CQ62 faulty BIOS or not!?

Your computer will not start up with out a BIOS working, it starts the hard drive and loads the operating system.

The CMOS memory stores parameters which are updated by the operating system. Hence it needs a battery to keep the parameters. It also needs the operating system to make any necessary changes to start up again.

I do not know your full model number, but this utility will check if your pc is bootable.

I have emachine em350 and 2 laptops more dell and LG. i have wifi network in my room which is functioning properly..my LG, and dell laptop can connect to my wifi network and can access by my router..the...

This can be so many things that trying to fix it by just reading the post, and without knowing if there was any changes, it's pretty difficult.
If the problem is that while searching for the network, the wifi don't see it, this could be the drivers or the wifi card.
If the information to connect tot he router is lost overtime, this could be a faulty memory RAM or the back up battery going bad.
Then again, the diagnose could be anything.

I AM A NEW USER OF COMPUTER, WHAT IS THE EM350 BATTERY LIFE?

Hello - the Emachines EM350 is rated by the manufacturer as "up to four hours." however such ratings are always a bit inflated. You can expect probably 2.5-3 Hrs. under "average" use.
Hope that helps, Mikeywaf

How do I replace the CMO

CMOS battery is that one, which keeps the bios settings and the time. That is now surely is not charging up and it has to be replaced. That is just like a coin. CMOS battery of desktops are easy for desktops, but i am not sure, where it is ( on mainboard though) exactly and the laptop should be opened. please take it to a repair center if you are not willing to open it yourself. its not a huge problem and do not worry.

thanks
