Me, too. Flip Video support suggests removing the batteries for 48-72 hours to drain the camcorder of any "residuals."

Glitch screen

I had one of these as well and since they don't support them any more its best just to trash them or give them to someone who wants to tinker with it. It would cost more to have it fixed than its worth.

My Flipshare video camera will not turn on. When I try to power it up on my computer or with the power cord, nothing happens. No light goes on, no nothing. Pleas help!

Hi d_cockerham,

You should try resetting your Ultra HD Flip Camcorder. Unfortunaately the support knowledgebase does not list the proceedure but I managed to get an email from them on how to proceed.

The steps to reset/resolve an issue where your UltraHD will NOT turn "On" is as follows:
  1. Remove the battery pack from the camcorder.
  2. Connect the camcorder to a powered USB port on your computer.
  3. When the "Connected" indicator comes on, insert the battery pack into the camcorder.
  4. Safe eject your camcorder from your computer.
  5. Reconnect your camcorder to your computer.
  6. The battery pack should now begin to charge within the camcorder
Hope this helps anyone else who encountered similar problems.

Brand new Flip Mino HD froze & now won't turn on. HELP!

return it for a refund! i bought one, it did the same as yours. i returned it and bought the 2nd one. It did the same as the first one (and the same as yours.)

It is a piece of junk. Supposedly the previous Flips were good, unfortunately, I didn't have the previous models so my experiences only are bad.

Flip Video Mino keeps freezing up, can't shut down or upload

At least the following works on my first generation Flip Ultra camcorder (not Mino). Remove battery, put it back next morning. After that be careful not to touch "on" slider switch on the side of the camcorder while Flip logo is still on the screen. I mean turn the device on by using the slider switch and do not touch that switch again until Flip logo on the screen is gone. Doing the opposite (trying to use the "on" switch again while device is still "booting" and Flip logo is on the screen) will lead to the Flip Ultra freeze.

Flip Ultra - freezes at initial Flip screen - will not shut off

I found a fix that worked for mine.
It was doing the same thing, freezing at the "Flip" screen and would not turn off. I did the remove the batteries deal. It worked once but issue reoccured 2 months later and the battery fix didn't fix it.
What did fix it was...
With the camera off, hold down the Right Arrow button and the trash can button at the same time and turn the camera on.
A few seconds later, I was at the start recording screen!!

Good Luck!

Flip video mino troubleshooting freeze

There is a reset button! Get a pin and push into the tiny hole at the bottom - inside the tripod screw hole. Push in and hold. The camera will reset. I called the Flip support - they were great !

USB Unplug Crash!(for a Flip Video Camcorder Mono HD)

this happened to me a few days ago, what you have to do is hold down the off button for 20 seconds. This technique is called hard reset, so it should work if you do that. :)
