Macs don't run on DOS, the only way to use DOS or Windows on a Mac is through an emulator. You may want to have a tech look at your computer.

SOURCE: How do i turn off the dos mode on my mac

The quickest way to get out of DOS is to hold down the power key until the computer shuts off. Then during restart, hold down the option key until the drives icons appear on screen. Use the arrow keys to select your OS for start up and away you go..

Does the file end in .exe?
It sounds like you have downloaded a Windows executable to a Macintosh system, and when you click on it it opens in the text editor, which displays the binary contents of the program, which usually contains the message "This program cannot be run in DOS mode."
Windows executables cannot be run on Macintosh computers unless you have also installed Windows, either under Boot Camp or under a virtual machine monitor such as Parallels or Fusion.

If you are running OSX, .exe files are windows only, there is no DOS mode in this OS.

SOURCE: How do you turn off DOS mode on a 13" MacBook Pro?

Is this a trick question? There is no "DOS mode" on a MacBook Pro.
Do you have WIndows installed as part of Boot Camp, and your machine is booting into Windows? To boot back into the Mac, either use the Boot Camp control panel in Windows, or hold down the Option key after you hear the startup chime and select the OS X partition to boot from.

SOURCE: how do i turn off

The Mac does not have a DOS mode to turn off.

It does have a command line mode called 'Single User Mode' where UNIX commands can be executed. Get into SUM by holding Command S at startup.

To go back to the Mac OS X interface, type 'reboot' and press the Return key.

Run disc dos mode

You will need a special boot disk that contains dos commands that will enable the optical drive during bootup. You can get all the files (3 of them) from any Windows 95 (or higher) installation disk.

I have it almost installed but before i can play the game my screen changes resloution and magnifies my windows then i get an alert box telling me that the organ trail game cant be installed then it closes...

Ahh i see.... Starting with windows 2000/XP. Windows no longer supports DOS... Im kinda sad about that myself D= but it doesnt end there for you my friend. Organ trail is a great game.

My tip is for you to get a program called DOS box from source forge. Simple google DOS BOX. Install the program and run the program from within dosbox. If you dont know how to run dos box simply drag the EXE you are trying to run into the window. Give it a try and it will work trust me. GL in the game....
