Reset franklin not working

Unfortunately, without the password, it may not be possible to access the Franklin BIB-475D databook. There is no official way to reset the password if it has been forgotten.
However, you may try a factory reset of the device. To do so, locate the reset button (usually located on the back of the device) and press and hold it for a few seconds until the device restarts. Note that a factory reset will erase all data and settings on the device, so be sure to back up any important information before proceeding.
If a factory reset does not work or if the reset button is not available, you may need to contact Franklin support for further assistance.

That shouldn't have damaged it.. I would try to reset it according to the instructions in the manual.

Turns out the batteries that I tried were dead. Bought new batteries and installed them. The Franklin BIB-1450 now works. Yay!

straighten out a small paper clip and use that wire to push on the reset button.

on the back u will find a small hole which contains the reset button. straighten out a paper clip and slide it in the hole. push gently and your unit may work well again

Unfortunately, you have to reset the unit if you forget the password...here is the link to the user's manual....see page 15.

look for the restore small hole on the back and use a pin to reset the default
