SOURCE: Swingline Stapler Staples Only After You Open It Up....

When you lift up the top of the stapler (as though you are going to put staples in), does the pusher slide freely back and forth? It might be getting stuck at some point and not pushing the staples (either due to a worn pusher spring, or friction). First (after removing the staples) try spraying some light oil on the mechanism and lifting the top part of the stapler up and down a few times and observe how easily it moves back and forth. Also, with the top open try GENTLY sliding back and forth a little - if it slides fine with no sticking, try loading staples and using stapler. If it slides ok, but doesn't quickly return to it's "normal position" when pulled so as to put tension on the spring, rhen the spring may be worn and need replacing.

SOURCE: There is a Stanley bostitch model B2000 stapler in

The person that asked this is probably long gone, but in case anyone else comes across this... I had the exact same problem when I dropped this same stapler today and the spring came out. After examining it for a bit, I realized where the spring had to go and fixed it.
Open the stapler the same way you would as if you were replacing the staples and look at the top piece, towards the back. There will be an elongated black hook here to attach one end of the spring. The trick is where you route the spring after that... look towards the front end of the same top piece, and you'll see 2 holes in the metal. You need to push the spring up through the first hole, then pull it back down through the second hole (you may want to use a straightened paper clip to snag the spring so you can pull it through that second one), and only then do you attach the other end of the spring to the hook in the sliding metal piece that advances the staples in the staple holder.
And that's it!

How to fix Apsco 17 stapler with a detached spring?

To fix an Apsco 17 stapler with a detached spring, you will need to reattach the spring to the stapler. Here is a general process you can follow to do this:
  1. Unplug the stapler and lay it on a flat surface.
  2. Locate the spring and the area where it attaches to the stapler. This may be near the back of the stapler or on the underside.
  3. Using a small tool, such as a flathead screwdriver or a pair of needle-nose pliers, gently pry open the area where the spring attaches. This will allow you to access the spring.
  4. Hold the spring in place with one hand, and use the other hand to carefully attach the spring to the stapler. Be sure to align the spring with the correct attachment point, and apply gentle pressure to secure it in place.
  5. Once the spring is reattached, test the stapler to make sure it is functioning properly. If the stapler still does not work properly, you may need to consult a professional repair technician for further assistance.

My PaperPro One finger 15 sheet power Stapler just stopped stapling. ???

For PaperPro Prodigy. Best stapler I have used but after about 8 years the flat steel staple driver broke. To repair, remove the bottom by forcing it back, force the stapler halves apart with a flat screw driver and the top comes off. The springs and levers are on one half and they will not fly apart. I couldn't find the staple driver part (on the left) so go to the store and buy a new stapler.

How to reload staples in a Bates 213hd Heavy Duty stapler

I have this model. There is a pusher/spring assembly at the rear of the stapler, that is embossed with "PUSH&UP". This pusher/spring assembly can become totally separate/detached from the stapler and then go missing (behind a cabinet, on the floor, in the trash, etc.) Without this pusher/spring assembly, you can stick a new stack of staples in, but they won't automatically advance. You need to look around and find the missing pusher/spring assembly.

WHERE do I open it to refill it??

Located on the end opposite of where the staples come out, there is a spring loaded cap. Push it in toward the base of the stapler and slightly down to release the retaining hook. then let the spring release the pressure rod and pull it out. Connedted to the end of the rod you will see a plunger that is shaped like a short run of staples. Make a mental note of how and where this plunger slides into the base of the stapler. Place a run of staples into the stapler in the same manner that the plunger fits then replace the plunger into the same place following the run of staples. Compress the spring into the stapler and attach the hook as it was. Now you are ready to work.

NOTE: If you cannot compress the spring enough into the stapler you have inserted too many staples, just remove some of the run of staples and try again.

How do I reload a Rapid S1 Supreme stapler?

Hi there,

  • Hold the gun in your right hand
  • The clip shield is spring loaded, when it released it will move toward base.
  • Near the base of the hand grip on the left side there is a metallic clip, free it with your left hand.
  • When it opens, check for obstructions, single staples, etc.
  • If it's been a busy day, add a couple drops of light oil to the moving parts.
  • Insert a clip of staples.
  • Slide the guard home, The clip will snap into place when it registers.
Then your good to go...

Best regards
Mike

How to refill

In the back of the handle at the end, there is a clip that needs to be flipped and then pull the tab downward while pulling outward. It does not open per say, but you pull the spring loader out of the handle. You will see two rails inside of the opening once the spring loader is out of the way, just lay a strip of staples on the rails and re-insert the spring loader and clip in the reverse order that you too it apart. It works very similar to a normal desk stapler. The spring loader pushes staples into the staging mode so when the plunger pushes downward it pushes the staple with it. I hope this helps in good luck!
