If it still works then just put a piece of duct tape over the crack.

This works for my Asus Eee PC
1. Shut down and remove the battery.
2. Press the power button 10 times, next 1 minute pressing down.
3. Remove the memory and at the motherboard you'll see a clrrst (clear reset cmos..)
4. Short these 2 tiny pads by placing a tiny screw driver for 5 seconds, plug the power adapter and turn-on the switch, next wait at least for 3 seconds. Remove the power adapter.
5. Place back the battery and turn-on. You'll see the same screen (Logo of Asus) then patiently wait for at least 10 minutes or more. That's it.Good luck.

As of 27 March 2011, it was available for US $252 (12,645 Phillipine pesos). For US $258 (12,905 Phillipine pesos), you can pick up an ASUS Eee PC 1001PX-EU27, which comes with twice the RAM, 250 GB (versus 2 GB) of storage, faster wi-fi, and a 10" screen instead of 7" -- larger keyboard also, which is far more usable.

like - some memori modul faulty.

ur display is not sync to the signal being rcd from the PC....visit a hardware engineer....

¿Did you try hitting ESC at boot time? If it doesn't work try turning off the unit, remove the battery for 10 seconds, put the battery in its place again and boot again.

There are 2 ways to install xp on eeepc.

1) Use usb flash drive 2gb minimum

2) Use usb CD-ROM if you have one.

1) find your laptop RAM memory stick location reference:

2) take out the RAM clean pins then reseat it back, turn on, if still dark screen your laptop got trouble at onboard memory, need send to repair.

check your manuals carefully
to see if this is included

to buy a bluetooth USB device is only about $10
very small, you can just leave it in.
