Hi,
if VHS tape is in you have only one solution..to disassemble DVD/VCR ..Can you do it ? you may try !!t
Here's how to do it.. * 1 Turn off the COMBO. and unplug it. * 2 Remove the
4x screws off COMBO on the sides and take off the DVD/VCR casing. * 3 Look for the Tape which messed up with VCR transport mechanism ,try to release tape of the transport with your hand..
* 4 Since EJECT feature works with power only ,while you keep the
tape off from transport plug the device to power and turn it on..Don't
worry, you will see the eject mechanism starts moving back on forth, keep
the tape off it and let it eject..
* 5.When tape is out .If it
destroyed badly normally you should not use it however if the recording
in is valuable for you you can cut the chewed portion and splice it back together .(Pls see the video included...How to fix a broken VHS tape.) * 6 While it is open, place another Tape to see if mechanism works properly. and eject it... * 7 Replace the casing and the screws. Plug the player in and turn it on. Now player is finally working .. Hope this helps!.. It sounds like the tape is jammed in the vcr, remove the top cover of the machine this will expose the tape. If the tape is spewed in the mechanical section and around the video head, get a pair of scissors and start cutting the tape and carefully remove all tape particles, when all tape debris has been removed, plug in vcr turn on and eject. If the tape looks good, you may have a loading basket problem, bad idler ***. or broken drive belt. "Lets hope for the best"
Unplug the power supply for thirty seconds and plug back in, this will reset the processor and might eject the tape. If this fails the next step is remove the top of the combo unit this will give access to the vcr tape, if the tape is spewed in the machine and wrapped around the video head and other mechanical parts use scissors to cut the tape and carefully removing the particles, press power to eject the tape for normal operation. However! if the vcr tape is okay, there may be a loading problem, broken drive belt, bad idler assembly to name a few, this is where a technician will be needed but may not justify cost.
The tape mechanism belts have stretched and the unit is not running properly. When this happens, microprocessor is programmed to eject tape and shut down unit.
You could cut of the damaged part and use thin clear office tape to mend it. Place the ends overlapping and cut with sharp carpet knife or with scissors. I have repaired quite a few tapes succesfully. You will lose the damaged section of the content on the tape.
is the VCR trying to eject a tape even if there is no tape in machine. then shutting down ? if so the vcr sensors need to
be replaced
sensors avalible from funai
