Printer is a couple of months old, when I replaced cartridges recently, noticed that I needed to clean or align the print heads. Didn't need cleaning, but the alignment is way off. Every time I have selected Re-alignment because the alignment is so bad, but the heads alignment doesn't get any better. Color is the worst, ran realignment 20 times and no closer to having heads aligned.

There is no doubt in my mind it Will be the cartridges you are using, alignment will continue to be requested if print out is missing bits do yourself a favour and use HP gen., not trying to plug HP just telling you the facts

First thing to try is to remove the power brick (not just the cord the whole brick) from printer for a minute then re insert and try it again. If this doesn't help try uninstalling it then re installing the printer

1Verify that the printer is turned on. If the printer is not on, check to ensure the power cord is securely plugged into a working electrical outlet, then press and release the power button one time. Wait for a few seconds while the printer powers up. Step2Lift the paper output tray. Load the letter or A4 unused plain white printer paper into the paper input tray. Lower the paper output tray. Step3Double left click the "HP Solution Center" icon to open the application. Single left click the "Help and Support" tab. Single left click the "Printer Toolbox" link. Single left click the "Align Print Cartridges" option to open the "Alignment Page" window. Single left click "Align." Step4Wait while the printer prints an alignment page. Examine the alignment page carefully and select the option that appears to be most correctly aligned. Select that option by single left clicking the corresponding option on the drop-down choices in the alignment window. Step5Single left click the "Done" button once you have entered all appropriate options. Wait while the printer prints a confirmation page. hope this helps

Hi, one or two head cleans won't clear a badly clogged nozzle. Try doing 4 or 5 head cleans, wait about 10 hours for the ink to soften and do another 3 or 4 cleans with a nozzle check after each. You should see a gradual improvement in the nozzle checks. If there is no improvement then you need a head cleaning solution such as this one:

Others are available just try googling "inkjet head cleaning".
Note that head cleaning uses between 5 and ten percent of your ink cart's, if any are low on ink have some new ones ready. Epson recommends printing a colorful document at least once a month to prevent nozzles getting clogged, see the Epson online guide:

Hope this helps.
Please take a moment to rate this solution, thanks.

Micky Tried resetting the cartridges and turn off and unplug, neather seemed to make a difference. Vertical alignment is fine, it's only the black and color horizontal that has the issue.
