Windowsxp comes up/wont allow either one of us to log in. no start program

I'm guessing you have a TEC register as this is the standard display when you have logged out. Type your PIN number and press the LOG button to log in. If you have forgotten your secret PIN code, you can program new ones. One of the users has many of the TEC programming manuals here:

If another account comes up, log out of it by clicking the down-pointing triangle in the upper-right then clicking "Log Out."

If you then still can't log in to your account, click the "Forgot your password?" link located just below the password box on the login page.

The operating system has lost or corrupted your profile. This happens from time to time. If you google " XP corrupt profile" you will find a lot of cases that relate to this. Follow the instructions that are provided.

1. there are 2 firewalls one is on the laptop in the Operating System and one in the router this is you second barrier against hackers.
2. log into the router and allow the program> use the user manual and follow the instruction set to allow programs.

Your right its not a virus, and its not because your running one of the top anti- virus software,the problem is else where.
Have you checked the log files to see if you have permission?????
Have you checked event viewer to see if you have permission????

I need to know or the fix I have for you will not work.

Please try this. First, you should be logged in as administrator. (You probably are logged in as KIDS). Then please go to Start-Control Panel-User Accounts and Family Safety-User Accounts-Parental Controls-KIDS-Allow and Block Specific Programs. There you can choose the programs that can be used by users logged in as KIDS. This does not apply to the administrator (There are no restrictions.) Hope this helps. Thank you.

When you restart the computer, as soon as you turn it on, start pressing F8. This will allow you to get into safe mode. Once you're logged on in safe mode, go to the control panel, then add/remove programs, and delete the program that is causing you trouble.

This needs some understanding of OS only. Don't worry.

Now, coming to ur first problem... u can change the bootup xp options by modifying the c:\boot.ini (be careful too...and u r right, it will not slow down ur pc)

reg. the bootup disk problem, ... u may need to create a bootable CD for installation... u may get the 'bootstrap' CD image from internet (but, r u having a licensed version???)
