If you're locked out of the BIOS, removing the battery or re-setting it with a jumper would work. if you're locked out of the OS, try logging in as administrator, as many people leave the password blank. OPH crack is available here: http://elliottback.com/wp/archives/2006/04/26/cracking-windows-passwords-with-ophcrack-and-rainbow-tables/ It will find many passwords, and it's easier than re-installing. Have you tried logging on in safe mode?

Problem on Dell OptiPlex 780 Desktop

You are going to need to start your computer in safe mode and find the XP drivers that will work for your motherboard manually from the web (Assuming that there are any created for XP for that board)..

That blue screen you keep getting is because you don't have the correct driver loaded for something on the motherboard that it needs to boot correctly and your XP install couldn't find it on the web to install automatically.

Start your PC and press F8 several times until the boot menu comes up. Then select "Safe Mode with Networking".

Now start looking for your drivers here:

If this is a floppy disk then run a disk cleaner and then try to read disk. If it is a CD or DVD om Drive then buy a good CD/DVD cleaner disc and run it on your computer.

We are trialling an L300 unit at a fast food type of place, problem is that after a period of inactivity it will log out by itself. I'm aware of the sleep function, which has been disabled, is...

This could be an issue in group policy. As I'm not directly there to look at the way the network is set up, it could be a number of things. While I don't believe the systems don't run on top of Windows Terminal Services, and considering that it is a fast food joint, it is hard to tell specifically other than that they may have it set up to log off after a certain amount of time of inactivity.

I hope this helps!

Hi,

Error Stop 0x0000007B can be related to viruses, hardware failure or a device driver issue.

Lets try this :--

Step 1- Insert windows XP disk and try to get into recovery console.(Can follow instruction displayed on the
screen)
Step2 - Once you login to recovery console, run chkdsk /p followed by chkdsk /r.
Exit the command prompt after chkdsk /r completes and restart your computer and see if that works,.

Step 3 - If it doesnt, try running a repair installation with windows XP.

Step 4 - Insert the windows XP disk, press enter to continue setup followed by press R for repair.

Step 5 - Let repair installation complete and restart your machine to check status of your computer.

Hope it helps !
Thanks
