Acer aspire x1200 freezing after factory restore
It appears that well bla bla as you say I agree weird stuff I have the same machine in my den. What I did was load Win 7 into it. It may be worth the investment. Also you may want to do a total hard drive wipe before re-installing original software just because you do a restore does not mean that there may be something left behind that could be affecting your computer. Killdisk is freeware I use this software whenever I wipe any drive. That way I know if there are any errors on the drive or bad sectors or whatever may be hanging it up. I think most folks will agree with me those that have been around know that Vista is quirky to say the least especially if you do not keep up with the latest updates with this software. I personally have never liked Vista some folks swear by it but to me it was just a BETA format for the Win 7 system testing phase. Many computers I have worked on I convince my clients to use Win 7 Ultimate. If you can get a copy of this that would I believe solve the matter. Also download killdisk save your goodies first and try it from there if you can. Also, you may have a bad or going bad part in your machine as well. Check the dust and clean if necessary and use some new thermos paste also on top of CPU........This may also help I have to do that at least every 6 months with mine they get hot. Maybe someone else has more options. I would at least consider the move forward from Vista to 7 you have the resources for it. John
Can someone please help me with BOOTMGR is missing Press Ctrl + Alt + Del to restart?
To fix this try first to see if this is not an issue of teh hard disk being changed from ide compatible to sata raid ..to check that ..take a look in the bios and try to change it from raid to non raid or ide compatible ..save and restart to see if it works ..If it does this might been the issue ..for not finding the boot files..but if it is not working and you know for sure that you did not default the bios lately .. leave it like you found it ..and download teh operation system you use in an image fil;e from the internet .. burn it on a disk .. and boot from disk to repair it or reinstall it .. cause this is the only way .. The missing files are crucial for the system starting .. So either you choose to repair ..and will ask for a command and teh command will be <fixboot> and yes .. and after that reboot and yes.. or reinstall it from the start and this is all ..remember if you planing to repair it will still hold the virus that caused the boot file to be lost and may do the same ..and if you you still want to repair you need teh exact same windows to download and burn .. The procedure is download it from a torrent site or so in image format .. and burn it at a low speed using Nero (on a dvd ) ..Let me know what you have managed to do .. and please rate my answer
I have Acer 1200 Aspire. When I turn it on, it won't proceed past the initial window. It says boot failure.
It almost sounds like your primary boot disk is incorrectly selected in the BIOS. On older machines, the primary disk on the primary cable had to be the boot disk, but nowadays almost any device can be selected as boot disk. Check your BIOS setting and ensure that the hard disk partition that you have Windows installed on is selected as the first boot device. Otherwise, the system may be looking in the wrong place for the OS and giving the boot error.
My acer aspire X1200 b601a wont boot past first
IF the machine is just shutting down it's likely the power supply. If it's constantlly rebooting itself, it's a corrupt bootlog. If the machine is just "freezing" when it tries to boot, it's likely motherboard related.

Here's what I do in a case like this:Disconnect everything but the CPU, memory, and video (and keyboard) to see if it will boot. Many time one of your components has gone bad and will keep the system from booting. My money goes on the CD/DVD.If it does boot, add in the hard drive and then the CD/DVD. If you have 2 sticks of memory, you can try each separately.
My Hard Drive is rattling,
Hi rip195454
Sounds like your hard drive is close to failure.
If I was you I would transfer all the important files, pictures, etc from the hard drive to a portable hard drive as quickley as possible.
Time to replace the hard drive in your PC, besure you have the restore discs that came with the machine, or that you made when the computer was new as you will need them when you put a new hard drive in your desktop.
Please take time to rate me
