Turns off on its own with a pop sound and is blowing a fuse

Teh tv turns itself off and can be turned right back on. Recently it went off and when the main power is turned back on it goes into standby immediately. I opened it up and found a blown fuse. Not sur of the position but two are right next to each other, this was the right one. Replaced it 125v 4 amp and it worked for 2 days and now does the same thing? Any Ideas on what is going on? Was manufactured in 1999 so i don't know if it is worth calling for repair or if I could do myself would like to.

I also found it lights up a red led light on the circuit board when this happens about 4 inches towards the front of the TV in front of where the main power cord plugs into the board. The fuse position is FU106

I have a Samsung PN51E530A3FZXA 51" plasma TV. I heard a pop & saw smoke from left rear of TV. TV went black & had no picture or sound, however the red power light stayed on.

Unfortunately plasma tvs are a lot more complex to service, instead of 2 or 3 boards there are a half dozen at least. I would guess when the main PS board went out it took some other boards with it. I don't have a manual for your set but I would look at the power supply sub boards, there generally are 2 of them, or on some models that is parts of the other boards. Generally there is a legend to see what voltages are supposed to be present at what places, samsung is good about making the test points on the boards. Also there are fuses on most the other boards and its possible one of those has blow, it won't be a typical fuse like your used to seeing, some are a small green component and some are white mini fuses...Good luck!

Power went out in the house and breaker popped off to where the tv was plugged in. When turned back on the tv won't turn on,The little light indicator turns on for about 10 seconds and then turns off?

Was the TV on a surge protector? If not it likely the main circuit board is shorted out. Contact the local power provider and try submitting a claim for damage.

I have an LG 50PS8000 plasma tv which is nearly 2 years old. For the last few months its has occassionally been getting a red haze over the entire screen which either dissapeared on its own or went if you...

I've also had a popping noise on our 50" LG plasma TV, however the picture has not gone, but has turned grainy and colors are weird. Can this also be a blown fuse or a more severe problem (ysus board or similar)?

LG 47LC7DF LCD TV turns off with a pop then turns back on.

Sounds like a overheating issue. Try facing a large fan blowing across the back of the unit and see if this changes anything. If it does, it might help to blow the back out with compressed air as dust might be helping it overheat.

Tv plays sound but no picture or any signs of backlight

This sound is a capcitor pop and this could be in the power supply unit itself. The glass could be a fuse that took the brunt from the capcitor pop.

1. Unplug the unit and do not plug it in.
2. if its under warrenty take it in please!
3. if its not under warrenty and you know eletronics verify what cap popped and replace that and the fuse.
4. if you do not know about eletronics this work would cost you around $150 for the wrok done.

Good luck I hope this information helps you!!

JVC tv i'art blinking timer

It is protecting you and itself with high probability.
Power supplies in modern electronic devices are designed to cycle if there is a fault in circuitry they are servicing and because of the design, also will not turn on completely if they are failing.

The older style of power supply was 'dumb' and unable to do this so could cause fires if the failure wasn't teh 'right' kind to blow the main fuse.

I agree with the manual; this is a job for a tech.

Lg plasma 42PC3D no picture with sound

I know you already replaced the board, this is for future searchers. If you heard a popping sound, then the picture went out, there is a 32 pin Sanyo module that goes bad on the board. That's probably what caused the fuse to blow. Replace the module, then replace the fuse. The module is less than half the cost of a used board. Since this was a popular model TV, there are lots of replacement boards on the used market.

TV turns on, but it turns right back off

Your lamp has went bad and you need to replace it. If you look on the left side of your tv there is a sticker that has a lamp part number on it. You can order that from part store.com and you will be back up and running.

Panasonic Flat Screen TV turns off by itself

If your unit was blowing fuses you must have had an overload somewhere. Your post is not clear. Does your unit run ten minutes after unplugging and replugging it? If it does then there is still a partial short in it somewhere which causes it to shut down for protection. It could be anywhere. Some detail on what happened prior to the fuse blowing would be helpful for diagnosis. You do not sound like you would have the expertise to troubleshoot this unit. I doubt there could be much wrong with it and the cost should be minimal. Find a reputable repair shop to handle the repair. Good luck.
