Turns off on its own with a pop sound and is blowing a fuse

Teh tv turns itself off and can be turned right back on. Recently it went off and when the main power is turned back on it goes into standby immediately. I opened it up and found a blown fuse. Not sur of the position but two are right next to each other, this was the right one. Replaced it 125v 4 amp and it worked for 2 days and now does the same thing? Any Ideas on what is going on? Was manufactured in 1999 so i don't know if it is worth calling for repair or if I could do myself would like to.

Remove original solder from regulator pins, (all four of them)on large heat sink that convergence Ic's are mounted on.Clean contacts with de-natured alcohol and re-solder.By the way,use OEM or better conv. Ic's or you risk re-failure of Ic's.

Heard a pop, tv went off, then doesnt come back on

Your unit has some sort of PSU fault, or a problem that is shutting down the Power Supply Unit, PSU. This happens so that no further damage, and possible fire will occur. The sound is it starting up, shutting down, over and over.

You need to take the unit to a reputable service centre/man and ask for a firm "Quote" for the work to be done.

When t.v. is turned on, black picture and no sound.

Usually when the fuse blows its due to a component being shorted and if you increase the rating of the fuse you can cause other components in the circuit to blow. The pop you hear was most like a capacitor on the D board. The D board is no longer available from sony as its listed as discontinued. You will most likely have to have a qualified sony service tech trouble shoot the circuits on the D board to locate the short as it will be outside the scope of a do it yourself type of repair

TV turns on, but it turns right back off

Your lamp has went bad and you need to replace it. If you look on the left side of your tv there is a sticker that has a lamp part number on it. You can order that from part and you will be back up and running.

Panasonic Flat Screen TV turns off by itself

If your unit was blowing fuses you must have had an overload somewhere. Your post is not clear. Does your unit run ten minutes after unplugging and replugging it? If it does then there is still a partial short in it somewhere which causes it to shut down for protection. It could be anywhere. Some detail on what happened prior to the fuse blowing would be helpful for diagnosis. You do not sound like you would have the expertise to troubleshoot this unit. I doubt there could be much wrong with it and the cost should be minimal. Find a reputable repair shop to handle the repair. Good luck.
