Your phone Key pad IC Fault So please change Key pad IC
And Key pad Problem will Solved Quickly

Open your phone cashing up, than open white plastick behind keypad.search the button with the problem then clean up the botton and PCB with pencils eraser,make sure it clean,so the connection between dom keypad and PCB well. turn back as before.I hope it help.

Mine is a nokia E71 locked to three. Three do all kinds of things to the cellphone which i believe renders some applications unusable, i am unable to install games via cable or via 3G, it wont let me call from abroad and the signal is always very erratic...cant wait to get away from three and their stupid mobile... fixes

If I were in your situation i would
-present the retailers with proof of my purchase(fone) at their outlet. (receipt, original packaging/box, warranty card).
-This should be enough for them to cancel/idle this number.

You could then:
-Buy another fone and have the same number transfered to your new fone so that all your contacts that have your number can contact you later on. (all they require to do this is, take down the imei number of the fone).

I do not know if it the companies policy or obligation to hold/idle the fone or not.

I do advise you that it may be a little heavy on the pocket but is worth it in the end.

thats an issue with your service provider If theres no network theres not a thing in the wrold you can do to get service. sorry

contact your sevice provider as maybe theres an issue with a tower or cell in your area.
