Whirlpool: How to replace the dog kit of direct drive washers

How to replace the dog kit in agitator
To replace the dog kit in the agitator, remove the top cap/rinse dispenser and the inner bolt cover. Remove the 7/16" bolt and lift the agitator out of the washer. Separate the upper and lower pieces of the agitator and replace the dog kit inside the upper part of the agitator. Make sure the 4 pieces remain in place while putting the agitator back together.

I cannot unscrew the top of the Mukka Express machine from the bottom!

If the bottom is screwed too tight on the top, you could try to warm the with hot water and cool the bottom with cold. This could help to expand the top and make it easier to unscrew.

I have a kenwood chef mod 703c the motor spins and drives the belt ok butwhen i engage the power switch the mixerhead does nothing, does not turn

The problem is that the clutchdog, which is normally engaged by the peg on the liquidiser cover, is worn. Remove the top casing of the machine by removing the 3 screws and all of the outlet covers. Then unscrew the top of the gear box and prise open carefully with a screwdriver to expose the gears. The clutch dog can be unscrewed. Remove the spring that is on the outside of the gearbox and replace it on the inside of the gearbox so that it pulls the clutch dog down permanently. This then needs to be screwed back once the top of the gearbox has been screwed back together. Sounds complicated but it will be obvious when you try it. The machine will then turn the main attachment hub but will remain engaged as for later model machines. Hope this helps. John UK

Agitator top portion not working

You need dog ears for your agitator. They cost about 50 cents and are in stock at most appliance parts stores. Tor replace them remove the top cover from the agitator. Uncer the cover there till be a bolt to take the agitator off. They are 4 pieces of plastic that resemble dog ears and lock your agitator in one direction while allowing it to spin in the other.
