Got a Kenwood KDC-PSW9524. For some reason the panel will not open when I turn on the car or push the lower left of the face plate, except 2 times out of about 50 tries, where it opened for one second, then shut again. Any help would be appreciated.

MINE DID A SIMILAR THING THE FACE PLATE IS MOTORIZED AND GOT STUCK CLOSED SO INSTEAD OF BREAKING IT I FOUND THE RESET BUTTON ON THE RADIO IN THE FRONT ON THE SIDE ITS A LITTLE TINY BLACK HOLE STICK SAFETY PIN OR SOMETHING IN IT.BUT BE CAREFUL IF YOU DONT KNOW YOUR RADIOS SECURITY CODE IF NOT SURE WHILE STILL ON GO INTO THE OPTIONS AND TURN THE CODE ACCESS OFF.!

must be careful, if you already make a 2nd try. most the 3rd try if the code again wrong. then the next wait time will be more longer to reset the wait. make sure the radio is remain on.

In standby mode press and hold bass boost/menu button to open options menu. use direction pad to toggle thru options. push center button in middle of direction pad to enter each option for adjustments clock adj, etc...

When i turn the car on the control panel on the Kenwood excelon KDC-X769 jus starts on opening and closing but never stays opens

you may have a bad face position sensing lever inside the deck, or bad gears. it could even possibly be bad flexible cables.

My car battery died and all of as sudden I can't get into aux mode. I start in standy, press menu, and the only option is Beep On. Scrolling doesn't work.

Try to open the panel (front) while the power is turned on..look for the tiny hole marked (sometimes) with reset and try to push with a pen to click. Reattached the front panel control and try to check if all the function has gone back.good luck!

You need to send it to Kenwood with proof of purchase, as they need to access a certain chip on the pcb to clear/read the code out.

Display disappeared on kdc 8021

If you mean that the rotating cover has flipped back round covering up the control panel turn on the ignition and push the top left of the panel. this should make the cover flip back around and make the interface available.

it's a Canadian Kenwood.

I had the 925 purchased from Ebay, but I sold the car with it.
it's probably the ribbon wire broken between the face and the unit. I know that on Ebay some they use to offer a repair for these type of units.
