I dont remember my 4

The only solution now is to take it to a Radio Decoding Service (such as your local Car Radio store) where they will open up your radio and connect a laptop to read the code inside your memory chip(EEPROM) using special software.

It will not be available by any other method as KENWOOD codes are not readily available ...Sorry

My cd player keep comeing on then going off...

Check the bat + wire (RED) and the ground (Black) make sure they have good solid connection to the harness that goes into the deck. If they are electrical taped together then untaped them and krimp them together. Let me know if this solves your problem. I don't want to give you 80 solutions to one problem

Cable

The difficult part is I have a KDC-X815 and you have a KDC-7024, so I have no idea how different they are internally/mechanically. But if it's any help, here are the (excellent) instructions I used to repair mine. I was able to find a replacement cable at a local stereo shop that also does stereo repair.

This forum thread has a lot of good info, too:

My Kenwood KDC-7024 has just

It's possible the flexible PCB (more of a cable, really) that connects the faceplate to the main unit has cracks in the conductors. This has been an issue with some of the older Kenwood HUs that have the MASK motorized faceplate. The flex-cable gets bent and pinched enough over the years that it eventually cracks the copper.

Some flip face stereos use a tiny micro switch to tell the onboard computer when the face is down or up and sometimes it uses the same switch for both positions sensing. It could be this switch is not working properly (dirty contacts, broken, bad wire, mis-aligned, etc.) and that is causing the problem. Good luck.

Security

Hi,
It is likely that your radio has been wired incorrectly, generally speaking there are two different wires that need wiring, an ignition wire, and an permanent wire, I guess you have both wired to the ignition hence when you turn off the car it forgets the code. If you check the wiring and make sure the permanent wire is connected straight to the fuse box and not the ignition it should resolve your issue.
Hope this helps

Control panel will not open when pressed in lower left corner

There are a few problems with these units including the flexible pcb's and also the detector micro switches and also the plastic gears getting sheared, I suggest you bring it back to where you had it repaired as it seems they haven't fixed it properly yet.
