My dryer looses heat & ignition. The igniter glows and then the fire box ignites. Then after about 5 minutes the fire box goes cold. After letting it cool for about 10 minutes it will start up again. When it will not lite, the igniter glows and after a few seconds I hear the click of a solenoid and then nothing. Do I have bad coils or a bad gas valve? The coils are hot. Thanks, David

if you hear the valve clicking but no gas the valve is bad.when the burner lights theres a probe that senses that it is lit and sends a microvoltage back to the controller to tell its lit.check to make sure all ground wires are grounded to a clean metal surface.

I have a gas dryer that the igniter plug glows, but does not light the gas. One time when I had the front panel off the gas ignited and the dryer heated, but only burned for a minute then shut off. Now I...

with front off it will short cycle. If ignitor glows and then goes out without lighting, you have bad burner coils. The 2 black round things on burner assembly. Unplug unit then unplug coils and remove bracket with 2 screws. install coils and test.

Gas Dryer. Heat for only one burn cycle.

Try vacuuming out the intake and exhaust of the burner to remove any lint or other debris. If no help, the main burner may need to be replaced.

Gas dryer heat is intermediate

does the igniter glow white or orange? if it is orange you need to replace it. has to be white hot to ignite. if the igniter is white it could be the coils not opening the gas valve all the time - an intermittent problem.
