If you "Right Click" on the desktop and select the "Properties" line, then go to settings tab, you will be able to select a more usable resolution. This should help.
Click Start/Control Panel and look for Display or Appearance and Personalization. Open the display and click Settings and you can change the screen resolution by sliding the bar over. The higher the resolution, the smaller the icons. Normal resolution is about 1024x768.
Depending on your operating system you might see link for Screen Resolution without actually opening the display.
Your laptop was not designed to run windows 7 or be compatible with it. It may run fine with windows 7 but issues might come up sooner or later like the one you're experiencing.
[EXPERIMENTAL] Download both of these (as I don't know which one of thsese two your laptop needs). Keep mind that doing the following could render your system inoperable and use at own risk. When downloaded, extract ZIP , open desired folder and find SETUP or INSTALL program. Right click and choose properties, then navigate to compatibility mode, then select windows Vista from the menu. Then apply changes, ok and close window and attempt to start.
Your graphics card on that should push that resolution so I would probably lean toward the tv. Try changing the aspect resolution or (zoom button) on the remote to change the way the screen is delivered. As long as the resolution on the laptop is a widescreen resolution and the same for the television. Make sure in your tv settings, that the aspect is set at 16:9.
You can fix this problem by changing the screen resolution.
Go into Control Panel - Display - Settings and change the screen resolution to something lower.
Try setting it to 1024X768.
Try adjusting the screen resolution by right clicking on an open spot, going to properties and clicking on settings. Change the screen resolution to 1024x768 or better.
This problem can be caused by not having installed the correct video driver.
OR
The screen resolution needs to be set higher.
Go to Control Panel - Display - Settings and change the Screen resolution to 1024X768 or higher. If you can't change the screen resolution then most likely you need to install or re-install the video driver.
