There are Astoria espresso machines not manufactured with NSF approval. They are designed to be used outside the USA. You may have purchased this type of machine. They tend to cost a lot less b/c they don't have the certification.

Is the machine new or used?

On the right side of the machine next to the serial number is the most likely spot for the NSF sticker or tag depending on the model of the machine it may only have an ETL listing.

Gloria two group Astoria was shooting steam the other morning we turned it off what could this be from?

Where is the steam coming from, if its from the top, then the problem is the vent valve or the safety valve, if it is the safety then the pressure stat needs to be replaced because it might be damaged or blocked at the tube that connects it to the boiler.

Check to see if your machine has a reset thermostat on the left side of the boiler, on new models it is located on the top, second some machines have a 2 position switch make sure it is on 2.

Older machine needs repair

When you press the dispense button does the needle on the dispensing pressure gauge move up to the green area? If so, most likely your group head solenoid valve is bad. It's located behind the back splash. It's a small black box connected to a metal tube just behind the group head. They cost around $70.

If the needle doesn't move it could either be your pump or motor. Now you're in the $200 range.
