The keypad needs to be replaced.

if the machine runs on 220, then it will do that with a power surge, because sometimes, when there is a surge, it drops to 110 power it is enough to do this, if it is wire and on 110 power, could be a programing issue that is triggered from a power surge. Most likely it was a power surge, that is common, especially if it is 220 power, machine will run if only 110, power, but wont operated fully for the proper steam, boiler temps etc, if does not have enough amp, just enough to flicker. The key is that you have to HOLD the programming button in for about 5 seconds before the system will go into programming mode. All the lights will come on and you will know you are ready to program the various shot buttons.
