It's a quirk of notation. When a book says tan^2(x), it actually means (tan(x))^2. Only the trigonometric and hyperbolic functions seem to get written this way. If one wants the square of a logarithm, for example, one doesn't write log^2(x).

The short answer: if you want tan^2(55), calculate tan(55) then square it.

code 12= battery has been disconnected at some point of time, code 12 should be there then others but when you see code 55 then you know theres no more codes stored bec code 55=end of cycle so try to reset the codes by detatching your battery terminal for at least three minutes and reattch. Check and see if you are getting anymore codes

had same problem, solved by lamp replacement. back to full glory!

The DR-55 is a Boss DR. Rhythm. I don't know of a Korg 55 drum machine. Are you sure?
