At first my printer spit out labels very quickly. Now I find that we have to wait a long time for it to communicate. Once it starts to print it will only print a few at a time, stop to think, then print a few more. I am currently printing about 4,000...this is going to take awhile. Any suggestions? Thank you.

You probably need to adjust the leveling cam if you have not done so already. This is the green thumbscrew near the print mechanism.

You can adjust the display contrast by pressing and holding the MENU key for 10 to 20 seconds to modify the LCD contrast level.

SOURCE: Won't print labels

Ended up being the heating settings - they were to low, so when I hit print...it would spit out a label but nothing would be on it.

SOURCE: Regarding Datamax E-4203 - Won't print

Check to see that the label sensor is over the gap in the label. It is just under the head on the right hand side.
You might also have the unit configured incorectly. If you go to the Datamax site, you can download the printer config program, It is easier to use than trying to push the buttons in the correct order to configure the printer.
Also use at least a 6" long label, and print the config file to see if you are set correctly for gap mode if using die cut stock.

My Zebra ZDesigner LP2844 feeds a blank label after printing a label. How do I make it stop doing that?

Define your label size correctly. Measure your LABEL exactly, do not include the backing paper or the gap. Calibrate the printer. HOW?
Power off printer. Press and hold the green feed button down and power printer on. Count one, two and release green button. The printer will calibrate and move labels and then print some stuff on the label. Wait until it has comletely stopped. wait another few seconds and the press the feed key once. The printer will print "out of dump". You should now be ready to print again.

Prints label then prints a blank

This is always a calibration or label template size issue.

Long pause between labels

Go into printer properties then to the ports tab. Uncheck "enable bidirectional support" This seems to be defaulted to on in the latest drivers and creates a delay in printing while the printer waits to see if it gets a response back from the application printing. This works for 2844 and 2824.

Have you checked that the labels are suitable for this model. There is a code between each label that sets the printer up. If its sending the wrong code then the printing will be eratic or non existent

TLP 2824 don't print

Only one suggestion, do a memory dump, switch off the power switch (should be back corner of printer) , hold down the green feed button, power on and watch the feed button, take Your finger off it after the third flash.

Leave it for a moment and press once more, it might say something on the label like out of dump. Try a label again.
Do this two or three times if it still acts up.
After this all thats really left is to clean it with an alcohol swap or check settings in the program You're using

Some times they cant store the amount of print jobs being sent to them and the zebra just freezes up or spits out labels

Spits out label but cuts words off

Problem is solved by pressing the function key until "margin" comes up. Then press function key again while "margin" is selected. Use the arrow key to select the "###". Then once that is selected press the function key again. That solved the same problem I had. Good Luck :)
