Top of form fault

Hold in the Feed button for 4-5 seconds, which causes the printer to attempt to "Auto-calibrate." If that doesn't solve it, then slide out the Media Sensor (green plastic bar that sticks out over the labels) about 1 inch from all the way in ("in" = left if looking from front). Then press Feed to clear errors. If still get same error, then look for piece of label or ribbon stuck in that error - ok to blow out with canned air. Then try holding in Feed again for 4-5 seconds to Auto-calibrate again.

I am using Bartender software and a I4208 printer.

In Seagull driver/Bartender software, Present Distance may be called Tear Off and can be adjusted after checking Post-Print actions in Document Properties, Stock tab. Standard setting is 0.40 inches. On the same tab, right below that, is "Top Offset", and that adjustment may get you the lower Start of Print you want. Ok to try negative number here.

DMX-I-4308. Hit print and

I would suspect something inside is getting hot thus overheating then causing the printer to shut down. We are talking about thermal here just keep in mind when these get to hot they shut down. So i would have it repaired its more then likely a sensor that is causing it to shut off.

I have a datamax I series and I would like to know

What type of problem do you have?
Will the printer not feed?
There has been some troubles on early model of the Datamax I class printers that are detailed in a service bullitin on the driver/power supply.
If the printer feeds intermittently, or runs back wards(hunts) it is probably a board failure. I usually replace the board and the motor on exchange with DAtamax if under warranty.

Dear Sirs, I have a DATAMAX

Motor Throttling is a warning message designed to protect and prevent the power supply and motor from overheating. It occurs after 30 minutes or so of continuous printing and printing slows down to about half the speed. It will eventually go back to printing regular speed, but if it's that much of annoyance it can be disabled under the printer menu under print control. If you wish you can do that.
