DS Light shutting off randomly

Does anyone know what the problem is when a fully charged (green light is on) DS Light randomly shuts off by itself. I switched out the battery with his brothers, and it still does it. So, I concluded it's not a battery issue

I know this may sound stupid and obvious, but are you hitting the power switch while playing? I used to have the same problem when playing "intense" games like racing when I would get totally absorbed and then all of a sudden my DS would shut off and I'd be like WTF?! I took it apart and switched batteries and found nothing wrong with it. One day my sister was watching me and asked "Why did you shut it off?" and then I knew. The power switch is very sensitive if you hit it even just a little it could be enough to shut the power off. I suggest just monitering what happens when the power goes off. Is it a specific game that shuts it off? Enviornmental effects? It should tip you off to the problem. If all else fails you could contact Nintendo and just see what they have to say. =)

My NDS just shuts down randomly in the midst of playing, usually with the green light giving a few blinks. No flashing screens though, and it's definitely charged. What could be wrong?

Is it still under warranty? Call Nintendo and have them repair it for you. I had the same exact issue, Nintendo solved my problem in less than a week.

DS lite, power is on but nothing happens

Ditto... except my daughter is 10. Both screens remain black, are fully charged and green light stays on for more than 4 minutes.

Ds power problems

mmm not exactly because if you plug the charger back in it will go orange again, so my guess would be that the ds doesnt stay charged for a long while, you can charge the ds properly when it is shut off but it does needs to be charging at least 8 to 10, you want it to last longer, play a game till the power goes just dnt save anything incase the ds shuts down while saving, otherwise it can corrupt the game and possibly the ds

Nintendo DS Lite shuts off randomly.

I'm a certified electronic technician and I must say NDS internal screen ribbon connectors are junk! Basically The ribbon connectors are so sketchy that it is not recommended to ever unclip them, if you do there's a good chance it will ever work again once reconnected due to how the connector pins slightly crimp into the ribbon pads.

When a NDS boots up the the onboard firmware constantly tests the LCD screen connections, if there is a break in the connection the NDS will shut down. If your NDS randomly turns off, fails to boot, or powers of when you move the hinge it is most likely the ribbon (flex film) or ribbon connector has failed. The only option to to replace the affected LCD screen.
