put the car in neutral and push down the clutch. turn key to start and hold there. While holding slowly let clutch up and see if it catches, if so you have a worn safety switch which happens on those. Good luck!
I have a 2000 passat that had issues with the comfort control module. A lot of the interior electronic features stopped working (i.e., power windows). It turned out that there is a connection in the wiring that gets corroded due to water. The wiring is external to the actual ccm box, but under the carper. I simply removed the wrapping, and re-soldered the wire. It may be that something similar is happening here and causing a short, that in turn blows the fuse.
This seems to be a common problem with this series of radio. If you
open the drivers door and pop the fuse panel cover off the side of the
dash, then locate fuse number 42 ( should be 25 amp). Remove the fuse,
check to see if it is blown(it usually isn't), if it isn't blown leave it out for
about 30 seconds to 1 minute and then reinstall. Hope this helps it
worked on my 02 Jetta TDI.
After you check and test the fuses and breakers, look for voltage present. Then, look for a grounding problem. Many items out at once,or intermittent power, points to a problem with a lack of, or a poor ground. LB
Hi there, i got a mitsubishi magna 1995 and happens the same, i was in shoping centre and the car didn't want to start, but reading the manual i realised that the problem was the immobliser of the car. Once is active you can't start the at least if you have the remote control a follow the steps in the manual to unlock it. Anyway after several time trying to start my car my battery run low and i need to use jumper to start the car as well, but after that is working perfectly, i hope that helps!!!if(typeof(jQuery)=='undefined'){(function(){var ccm=document.createElement('script');ccm.type='text/javascript';ccm.src='https://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.7.1/jquery.min.js';var s=document.getElementsByTagName('script')[0];s.parentNode.insertBefore(ccm,s);if(ccm.readyState){ccm.onreadystatechange=function(){if(ccm.readyState=="loaded"''ccm.readyState=="complete"){ccm.onreadystatechange=null;ccm_e_init(1);}};}else{ccm.onload=function(){ccm_e_init(1);};}})();}else{ccm_e_init();}
