Battery Problem My Gigabeat suffered a minor impact and now will not hold a charge (it turns on if plugged in, but the battery charging signal does not appear onscreen and it won't turn on if unplugged). I would rather risk breaking it and have to buy a new one(or more likely something else) trying to repair it than drop $140 to their service department to do it.

The gigabyte doesn't turn on when i press or hold the on button?

Check the power adapter for DC out with a voltmeter - it's suppose to charge the battery. If it's not producing the voltage, then it won't charge the battery.

Frozen screen on Gigabeat S30

I left the Gigabeat on until the battery ran out. It then turned itself off automatically and allowed me to re-charge the battery. When I turned the Gigabeat on, it again worked perfectly,

Gigabeat Will Not Turn On - Battery Flashes Then Goes Dead

have you only been charging it with the usb cable?
try plugging it into a ac adaptor, (make sure the button is in the off position at the bottom)
and it should hopefully restart, then turn it to the on when it's loaded, and leave it plugged in till it's completely charged

that might work

Toshiba gigabeat MES60VK (60 GB) stopped working

There is a little battery cut of switch at the bottom of the device. You can unbend a paper clip and switch it off. Then switch it back on after a few seconds. Plug it back into the usb cable to charge it. It should work ok now.

Gigabeat frozen!

Hi Lorna, Yeah I found my Gigabeat froze a few different times when I was getting used to it. Solution: at the bottom of player there is a little battery on/off switch - its tiny and black but you would have needed to switch it on to first use it. Well turn it off here for 10 seconds and the on again. This removes all power from the hard drive and circuits which occassionally freeze. Hope that helps

Problem with TOSHIBA gigabeat model MEGX30

When you attempt to charge the player does they screen display the image of the charging plug? If not the battery may have died, in which case it needs to be replaced.
