You can download all your drivers here.

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareList?os=2093&lc=en&dlc=fr&cc=aa&lang=fr&product=3572220

You can install it manually if it does not install automatically due to the OS support

Pls vote my solution if it helps thanks.

Downgrade windows 7 to windows xp on compaq presario cq56

> downgrade to XP

Bad idea. Your CQ56 laptop was "designed for Windows 7". not for XP or Vista.

The only device-drivers on COMPAQ's web-site:

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&product=4326711

are for installing Linux, to replace Windows 7.

If you did install Windows XP, you'll probably have 800x600 video, no sound, no wireless, and no wired-network access. Not good.

So, do *NOT* try to "downgrade".

Wlan driver problem in vaio vgn-cs21gn

Hi...
This is Nishit Jadawala from Ahmedabad, India. I am also having the same problem with my Sony Vaio VGN-CS21GN Laptop. WiFi was working perfectly in Vista but when I downgraded it to Windows-XP it started giving me errors that "Driver Not Found for the Device" I have downloaded all the drivers available on internet but nothing worked.
Finally after 8 months of research on this problem, I came to know that there is a bug in the supplied Windows XP-SP3 Operating System. There is a file in Service Pack 3 that doesn't allow drivers to access the hardware of WiFi.
The Solution is you will have to forget the bundled windows XP and upgrade your operating System. Right now better option is to go for windows 7. It dint even asked for any kind of drivers to load. WiFi is also working perfectly on it. The laptop has become more faster & smoother than in windows XP.
For more queries, you can write to me on [email protected]

We want to Downgrade the OP from VISTA to Windows

get the windows xp disc, press F2 to get into the bios and set the cd rom drive as the first bootable device.

Boot from the windows xp disc - wipe and re install xp as the operating system and then once installed update to at least SP2 and get the drivers for the network card if not already installed and it should be fine as long as you can get the relevant drivers.

Downgrade vista home basic to windows xp Pro.

Look up your laptop on HPs website. Confirm that there are XP drivers for your laptop before doing this. It is POSSIBLE to downgrade, but prepare to become one with Google. If HP has no XP drivers, then youll have to manually search for the drivers. If you have to go hunting, use a program called Everest to identify your hardware. In some cases the Vista driver will work for XP (you may have to force install). Good luck.

Downgrade from Vista TO Xp

Hi Bienana,

Steps must be taken in advance. Laptops are different from desktops. They have proprietary drivers that need to be available for boot or bad things happen. For example the CD-ROM won't be there any more. Then how will you load anything?

What you will have is a plastic rectangle that keeps asking for an operating system you can't install.

First, create a boot disk.
Second, create another boot disk.
Test them both. Make sure the CD works.

Now for some alternatives to formatting your hard drive.

Click here for a site thats offering Windows XP recovery CD's to those Vista owners that want XP. The offer is good through July 31, 2009.

Click here For the Toshiba site specifically for downgrading Vista to XP. It's a source for the drivers that inevitably don't get copied, what rights you have for which version and so on.

Both sites will give you some important insight before you take the plunge.

LAN and Sound Driver while downgrading from Vista to XP for Compaq B1214TU

Hello.
Did you look in the CDs you got from your pc vendor ?

Look in the documents you got with the pc for the motherboard(main board in your pc) manual, if you don't have the manual
try to locate it in one of the CDs included with the pc.
The important thing is to find out who made your motherboard and what is the model.
Once you know that, go to the manufacturer website, find the drivers for your model( for XP of course), download it and install it in your pc.
Note: when you get the drivers, SAVE it in a CD.

Good luck
