There are two issues, the first is a vertical deflection problem, "needs a few parts+an ic" the second problem is intermittent color, "crystal and color processor ic" If the set is close to 10 years old then your money is better spent on a new tv.

There is some short in the inside circuit of your TV. Horizontal output transistor may be leakey. Replace it with a new one of same type and number. If it doesn't rectify the problem, LOT should be replaced.

bay re move the back and lose the yoke up and turn it the way the pix is til.

I have a Mitsubishi  "CS-3515R.  Serial number 528801. When I turn it on by remote or on the set itself, I can hear the power come on.  BUT there is no picture and no sound.  What do I do?

Check the electrolitic capacitors in the vertical section for leakage or dry condition. The vertical amplifier IC may also be defective and check for the solder joints around the high power resistors as well.

Had the same issue. Try hitting the input button on the remote. Then chose aux. 1 option. Worked for ours.

Sorry to be the one to inform you Sheri, but this set is known to have several bad capacitors in the sweep as well as the power supply. Unless you have an ESR type capacitor checker, your going to have to take it in for service, by a pro. Hope yopu did'nt pay to much for it. Good Luck
