Printer Problem I have Windows ME , the CD player is messed up. I have a Lexmark Z2300 printer. How do I go about getting the printer driver on my Laptop Computer?

you need to tell us what operating system you use...

if this is windows up to widows7 - you need to use your cd disk which comes with the printer (same with win8 or win10 but not really necessary as these will establish printing protocol generic for the printer). if you use mac os or any flavour of linux - you need specifric drivers for mac, most of current linuxes will load drivers automatically.

if you do not have cd with drivers - go to this site:

select your operating system and download it. run then the installation program, when program ask you - connect the cables (DO NOT CONNECT CABLES BEFORE YOU INSTALLED DRIVERS - IF YOU DONE SO - DISCONNECT THEM NOW!)

this site will allow you to download drivers and programs available for your system. compulsorily - you need to install drivers - all rest is optional.

go to lexmark.com and locate your drivers and and other necessary software at the support area of the site.
download them and just install.

Down load the driver you need and fallow there installation instructions. Save a copy the installation file on a cd and label it for the next time you need to reinstall.

you must download the software from Internet, follow instructions below,

follow instructions, and click on download .
Chose to download the file in my documents when asked.
After downloading, find the file,double click on the file ,then if you get in troubles, follow the instructions below to reset and reinstall drivers:

• Unplug printer USB.
• Go to control panel >> installed printers in Windows and remove (delete ) any installed printer from printer list.
• Download driver from website, or use the disk and run the install file.
  
• Follow driver installation wizard.
• Plug back printer when prompted from installation wizard.

Note:some printerdoes not work on Vista, if you do not find any driver download for Vista on your model page, that means your model is not Vista compatible.

If needed go to a friends house that has a cd or dvd burned and download it there and save it to the cd. Then copy it from the cd to your computer.
