One evening my c340 was fully charged, went on a short drive and when I returned to my car it was off. It turned on once and died, has not worked since. Charged it all weekend, tried the USB route, no luck. Any ideas?
Batteries have a specific amount of electrons it can hold, but when a battery is finishing the working time reduceses, if you can access a avo meter you can check some current, using amps range on the meter before buying another one. thanks

IT's those short drives that burn down a battery! The starting of an engine requires mucho electric to get it running. The alternator then charges the battery, but slowly! If you also have the lights and stereo on it is even slower. Get the battery FULLY charged with a commercial battery charger. Then check to see if the alternator is charging up the battery after you start it. If not, replace the alternator. If the battery dies overnight or in a few days...replace the battery.
If the batt light is on, the alternator is not charging the battery. If the battery won't hold a charge, it could be failing. If you are having a specific problem with your PT Cruiser or Mustang, let us know what it is.
with new batterys you may find if quicker to charge them in a battery charger and not in the camera,,,the camera charger is for "topping up" the batterys realy not fully recharging them its so you can leave the camera on its docking port and it will have fully charged batterys in it when you wont to use it,, to fully charge a new set of batterys it could take days,,,,so overnight is to short a charge to recharge them,,,leave the camera on its docking station for a fuw days at least, or use a home charger for your type of battery ie:AAA or AA, both take 16 hours to recharg fully
I has the same problem with a streetpilot 540.. It wouldn't turn on, even once charged. There was no reset button under the serial number. However, prise off the grey plastic square plate on the front panel which goes around the screen. ( there's even a little space for your fingernail under the Garmin logo). The reset button is under that plate. Press that with a screwdriver then turn on. My unit turned on once reset.
Avoid buying Garmin GPS. Their units have a non user replaceable battery that last about 2 years. After that, you have to send the unit to Garmin to replace the battery and be hit with at least $150 plus shipping. Possibly more if they need to fine tune something else. Look at other brands with easier battery replacement such as Sony, Navigon, etc. Garmin is a total rip off.
